Title: Does a great job
Review: I de-thatched my front yard with this electric machine. My only regret is that I didnt have this de-thatcher sooner!!! It's excellent and a great value. You'll need a heavy duty extension cord. I used a 15 amp 100' cord and it worked beautifully. It is fairly light weight and easy to assemble. The instructions are adequate. There were years of thatch to get up, so I put the setting on 2 and wow! I filled up 6 contractor trash bags with thatch. While I agree the thatch catcher doesn't hold a lot, it would be too heavy and awkward to remove if it held more. After dethatching, I over seeded the grass and added some "new seed" fertilizer. Within just 5 days and some rain, I've never seen the yard look so good....and this is before the new grass has sprouted!

Title: Little mighty lawn vacuum!!!
Review: Read no more reviews, don’t be confused, this is the one you want. Just buy it and be happy. I did the research for you.This is a sturdy little unit. Moderately priced, has one of the largest bags available, super lightweight,very easy to store. Forget all the terminology and descriptions, the bottom line is this is an agitator and vacuum cleaner for your lawn. It comes with two blades. The larger one is much too rough and will damage your yard. Use the smaller one and don’t look back.A few notes on my experience below.I neglected my lawn for 13 years and chose not to bag clippings and a significant amount of thatch built up. Then I bought this little mighty machine. I started on the highest setting and went over the lawn, then lowered it one setting and did the same, doing it five times total going progressively lower and lower.Many say forget the bag, but I recommend the bag. It does have a large capacity, but will only fill about 1/3 because it gets clogged. Any of them would probably do that.I did the first one without the bag and there was thatch everywhere. I raked some of it, but the more you disturb it. It just sinks back into the lawn. After this initial agitation, I installed the bag and then went over the lawn on each of the settings going progressively lower each time. You’re only going to get 10 or 20 feet before you have to empty the bag so get ready for some work. Drag it slowly back-and-forth as it’s working, it seems to suck up better that way. It fills up quick or did in my case. But with a few hours of work on my front lawn it came out quite amazing. I dumped the thatch on an old sheet and drug it back into the wilderness never to be seen again.The lawn looks amazing now. One of the pictures shows the right side done and the left side incomplete.I highly recommend this! Much easier than raking… still a good bit of work, but really does a good job.

Title: Seems Effective With Lawn Thatch
Review: I received this just a day or two ago. I put it together today and it was reasonable .. all I needed to provide was a phillips screwdriver. They provide an 'allen' / hex wrench to use when changing from the dethatching bar to the scarifier bar. It comes with the scarifier bar mounted. Changing the bars is a 10 minute job. Assembly instructions were ok. It seems to be reasonably constructed. ALthough I suspect that it will not last long if used frequently.I've only used it for an hour or so to pull up the thatch in section of my yard that looks next to dead from the extreme heat and drought that we had in our are (SW Ohio) this summer. I did not bother with the very small collection bag provided. This thing worked quite well .. even though my yard if fairly rough with some high and low spots. The existing patches of healthy grass seems to not be harmed that much. I am just raking up the thatch.I may use the scarifier bar next spring if these areas look to need to have some new grass seed planted. I'll use it to rough up a few areas, spread some grass seed and perhaps finish with a very light (~ .1 inch or so) of soil followed by a very light raking to try top cover the grass seed a little.So .. so far I like it and it is saving many hours of raking this thatch out manually.10/24/24 I used this to dethatch about 4000 sq ft of my lawn over the last two days. This unit did a very good job. My lawn soil is poor and not particularly smooth. Its easy to use. So I am very satisfied.

Title: Small but mighty!
Review: This compact machine works great and cleans up easily. I was very impressed with the thatching but be ready for some repetitive raking and mowing. Others made comments on the grass catcher/bagger not big enough but mine worked good but had to empty often. I would definitely recommend to others!! Easy to put together,10-15mins. Light weight, great value.

Review: This dethatcher is lightweight and very manageable. It’s small enough that I feel confident in running this piece of equipment….works well and seems well built for the money. Earplugs or headphones are recommended for safety of your hearing.

Title: Perfect DIY tool
Review: When I first received the dethacher/scalper I was a little leary about it. After using the dethatcher for three hours I realized that this is a good machine. If you want to use this for your DIY's this will be perfect. The machine is very light and easy to use and control. I am 71 yrs old and this made my job much easier. My only concern is the size of its collection bag.1. Easy to assemble2. Light weight3. Easy to control4. Noise is little more than my electric mower5. Easy to cleans and store.This is a good choice for the price.
