Title: tricky to get it working
Review: This thing works great--when you know how to use it properly. You have to have the device against the wall before turning it on. While holding it against the wall, press and hold the button on the side (it will do one long beep and the light will stay green- DONT LET GO OF THE BUTTON), now swipe it across the wall. It will beep and glow red once you've found a stud.If you press the power button before contact with the wall, it will give false readings.It's a great bang for buck (I'm just hanging shelves nothing serious), but it's a bit frustrating to get working right away. Also it doesn't come with a 9V battery, so there's that.

Title: Works well finding studs.
Review: Works well finding studs. Good basic stud-finder. I purchased a better one to find pipes, and electrical wiring in the wall. This basic stud- finder tool works great for locating studs and is light and easy to use. It’s great for my resetting drywall nails and then screwing the drywall down. I’m happy with this purchase.

Title: It seems to work.
Review: I was able to use this to locate studs in a shower and install a grab rail. It apparently found the edges of the studs, as it was VERY difficult to drill into the wall. I had a tile drill bit that made it through the tile, but beyond that it ran into something very hard. Not sure if it was plaster or what, but stripped a couple screw heads trying to drive them in. Literally had to use a vice grip on the screw head to turn them 1/4 turn at a time to try to get them tight. I even drilled a slightly larger hole that specified, and it still was nearly impossible to get the screws in tight. (this has nothing to do with the stud finder, but wanted to complain to someone. ha. )

Title: Cheap but unreliable
Review: This stud finder has a good design, it's cheap, easy to use and from a known company. But I found that its sensors don't always work as described and don't provide reliable measures.

Title: I am absolutely AMAZED!
Review: Stud-finders range between $19 and $59 on here and similar sites.I found this on here for under $8. I figured if it was a piece of garbage, I didn't lose much.Sometimes the cheapest tools do the job perfectly!Just put a 9V battery in this and get busy. It found every stud in my wall time after time. Yeah, I measure several times and cut once. This little gem worked perfectly first time, every time.Glad I took a chance and went with the cheap tool. In this case, it was absolutely the right decision.
