Home Use UV Water Purifier

Pond Lake Fountain and Aerator

How did we get our start?

Back to 2016, we find most of the UV water purifiers are unaffordable for the families. And if you live in a rural place or small town/city, it would be difficult to get clean water directly from the pipes/wells/raining water. Then, HQUA was established, we aim to provide people, affordable, reliable, responsible products, and services for the water issues.

What problem are we solving?

All our products focus on water issues, which mainly include indoor drinking water treatment issues, as well as outdoor pond water circulation, decoration, and swimming pool equipment.

Title: Simple, Inexpensive and Effective
Review: Replaced a much more complicated "top of the line" UV system that had expensive electronics that failed. This system is simple, little can go wrong, and works great. DIY install. Excellent product.

Title: Works! Now a year later, time for yearly maintenance...with two howto hints
Review: Yearly maintenance consists of changing the UV tube and cleaning the quartz tube.Remove the old UV tube and put aside. Next, following the instructions, shut off the water to the unit, drain that loop and remove the gasketing rings on each end.Remember that gloves must be worn when handling quartz glass as hand oil will eat at them.Remove the tube and clean it, as per the instructions. I have clean softened water so the outside of the tube was fine. What the instructions don't cover is that the UV bulb heat causes outgassing of the plastic guard on the tube...which puts a film on the INSIDE of the tube (like the film on the inside of your car windshield). How to clean it, the instructions don't say. HINT #1: Get a 24" claw mechanic's pickup tool like this: www.amazon.com/ALINNA-Flexible-Grabber-Bendable-Reaching/dp/B098F3VWDV/ and a piece of paper towel. Gather a dry piece of the towel up in a LOOSE wad with the pickup tool and gentle feed it down the quartz tube, turning it gentle to wipe the inside of the tube. Gently pull it out.Now reassemble the tube in the filter house and reseal it with the o-rings and collars. Put on the gloves if you haven't and feed the new tube in. Now HINT #2: You have to unplug the ballast and replug it after connecting the UV tube to the ballast 4 conductor connector. If you never unplug the ballast before connecting the new lamp, it won't come on.Hope this helps. My original review, a year ago...this still holds.===================================I've been a professional mechanical contractor. The gear was was well made and straightforward to install. The one item damaged in shipment was replaced cheerfully and immediately; they even gave me two in place of the one busted one. That's service and customer attention!

Title: Great customer service
Review: The UV light is working without issues. I had a small issue with a quartz sleeve being damaged in shipping but was given a replacement. Excellent customer service. Please note: I had the same issues as others with the fittings. I was unable to get my sharkbite fittings on the UV unit, but was able to make it seal using the following: Water conditioner hose, extra o-ring placed against gasket, teflon tape, and pipe sealant. I am disappointed to have had to use the pipe sealant in my system and do hope that the threading issue can be remedied in the future. But the customer service, cost and overall quality led to my recommendation to purchase.

Title: The instructions recommend 5-6" of metal pipe coming out of the unit!
Review: First off, the unit works great. Had the water tested before and after, and the bacteria is gone.I have two issues with the unit. First, the in and out ports are not labeled. Are they reversible? I don't know. The instructions don't make it any clearer. One pictures shows the inlet nearest to the UV tube, the other shows it on the one further away. I resorted to looking at all the pictures here to figure it out.Which brings me to the second issue. Looking at all these pictures, most people are plumbing it directly with PEX, which was my plan. However in scouring the instructions to figure out the issue above, I found a note that the UV unit must be installed with 5" of metal pipe at the inlet and outlet, to prevent overheating and degrading the PEX, releasing chemicals into the water. I had to run out and get fittings and pipe in order to do that, and it really changed the whole layout, needing 10 extra inches of space. Both of these issues could be more clear in the instructions, and also in the product description. Clearly a lot of people are either missing the proper way to install it, or just don't care.

Title: Great Value!
Review: Seems to be built well! Great customer/tech service! It’s glowing so I guess it is working. Adding spin down filter before the big blue which houses 1 micron filter, there does not seem to be any water pressure drop off! Well company wanted 2,500 to install UV. I am into this for under $400 including spin down filter , fittings , pex and that contraption wrap around the pex. ( going to need some time to review that thing )

Title: Great option for UV Sanitition
Review: I bought the HQUA-TWS-12 because of its space saving ability with both the input and output lines on the same end of the unit. I still had to work a bit on plumbing to get it all to fit how and where i wanted to with a minimal footprint. I did not add the sampling valves as the manufacturer recommended because I have one right at the pressure tank, and many faucets around the house anyways. I can sufficiently test if there is bacteria in my incoming supply as well as if it is in my pipes. Plumbing and soldering the unit in took several hours, but the unit feels solid. I had zero issues with leaking after following the assembly instructions. All gaskets were provided. I have a thermostat control to prevent water heating during periods of no water usage (overnight and when no-one is home). The unit will heat the water in the UV sanitizer to 80 and turn off the bulb. Once the inrush of cold water cools the unit down to 70 it will turn back on. With this setting it does not take long at all to turn the bulb back on so no loss of UV exposure to any amount of water.I did have an issue where the ballast was not working properly. I emailed the seller and they promptly replied and within three days I had two new ballasts AND two new bulbs. Great response time and customer service there, thanks James. My only major gripe is that the ballast is not safety certified for North America UL, CSA, or ETL (US/CAN). Being in the certification world myself, I understand the importance of this certification. That said, the ballast construction seems solid although there is no way to tell without performing the tests to the applicable standard. (UL 935)

Title: Fair product but the lights powersupply died within 3 months.
Review: I may have gotten a bad one but within 3 months my powersupply died which makes the extra tube and bulb kind of worthless..

Customers say

Customers like the functionality, ease of installation, and build quality of the water purification unit. They mention it works great, is easy to install, and has a well-made UV filter. Some are satisfied with the water quality. However, some dislike the ballast quality and disagree on leakage and UV light.
