Capacity of a Water Softener How many gallons a softener will approximately make depends on the hardness of the water source and your water usage. To figure out the approximate capacity of your unit, take the grains of the unit (Standard 8,000/Double 16,000) and divide that by the grains per gallon (GPG) of the water source. Double Standard Softener 16,000 / 11 GPG = 1,454 gallons 16,000 / 58 GPG= 275 gallons

Title: Still happy after 3+ years
Review: I bought this for my boat after I had new black water lines installed. The soft water helps to prevent build up inside the tank and lines. I recharge about every 3 months. I do have a whole house filter on the line before the water softener and I think that helps extend the time between recharges. One of the brass nuts has become stuck to the hose but other than that, it's been great. Would purchase again.

Review: We’ve been full time RVing for 3 months now. Got this about a month into it. We were at a campground in which the water was very hard! Was worried we’d get a ton of buildup in our RV. We’re from Phx originally and were used to hard water there. We installed a whole home water softener there and made a difference. We thought we could give this a try!! It is an investment, but much cheaper in the long run when you don’t have to fix appliance or worst-plumbing!When we started out, we were using a small inline filter. Don’t think it was making a big difference. After talking to a few different people who owned them, we decided to buy one. Glad we did. We definitely saw a HUGE difference in our water. I have long hair and immediately felt the difference - post shower. We did buy the one with the metal connections - felt like it would be more durable We bought the larger one and It is heavy, too heavy for me to pick up. If you are older, opt for the smaller one. I like the fact that you can use regular table salt. We also bought other filters that we connect from the campground water connection then the softener. Water tastes amazing!! We also get a lot of question about our set up - I think we may have influenced a few people to buy this!! If you have doubts...don’t!!! It’s worth it!!We did have some questions when we got the softener, called customer service and they answered them quickly & professionally!!Worth the investment!!
