Title: Highly recomend this book.
Review: I just received my Splash 13 book. I love it. Don't expect to see all the same artists in it from previous Splash books. It is very refreshing to see new artists. Very well done book. I could do with less animal paintings but only because they are not what I enjoy painting. Love reading the alternative approaches described by the various artists. I always wish for a little more descriptions in the Splash series. But I understand that this is not a "teaching" book. From the People chapter to the Travel chapter, a very good book. Can't wait for Splash 14. Thank you Rachel Rubin Wolf.I really looked forward to getting this book and I am very happy with it. I would buy it again and highly recommend it.

Title: Such a lovely collection of work by talented artists
Review: Loved the Cover Art Transcendence by Cathy Hillegas and really enjoyed The Evening Star … by Steven Thor Johanneson, beautiful perspective of Cannon Beach. Never can get enough of works by Thomas Schaller glad to see some of his work in here.In terms of “Alternative Approaches”, to me, Alpha 8Cs by Richard Lewis was outstanding.

Review: Splash! Great collection of some of the highest quality watercolor artwork in the country! Great reference for me as a watercolorist, I study this book regularly for inspiration and goal setting. Good coffee table book for quests to peruse.

Review: Some of the pages are fantastic ! I love the two variations of peony watercolour. A must have reference book for amateurs and professional alike to study the details. I shared with my painting friends, they love the composition of birds and the background color . Gives watercoloring a fresh look at composition for detail painting.

Review: Each Splash edition highlights some of the best watercolorists in the country and each follows a theme their work illustrates. The paintings are beautifully printed and the artists' words give insight to both people who want to learn more about the technique and people who just enjoy the beauty of the works.

Title: Splash 13, Alternative Approaches: The Best of Watercolor
Review: I own all the Splash books. Number 13 is the latest. As a water-media artist it is nice to see a compiled book of what is out there by known artists and some I have never heard of, but are still good. When I become aware of a new artist--to me--it is fun to go back into the Splash series and find what that artist has done in the past. Styles change with some of them which is interesting. It is also nice to have in my Library to occasionally just look at the books in a quiet moment. Each time I take the time I see something I had not seen the time before. I will buy these books as long as they make them. I like it because of the art work, but the book itself is good quality with beautiful colored copies of the artwork. The Splash series is very well done. Rachel Wolf does a good job in the books she produces. Her other books are good as well.
