Title: Not a bad guide to buying an RV, but there are things you should know
Review: This book was very insightful and helpful despite being a short read (I read in 2 hours). The book is more focused on buying an RV rather than owning one, so it's expected that you to take the information from the book and apply it to deciding on and purchasing an RV. You are guided on what kind of RVs there are, how to spot a good vs bad seller, and what features are necessities vs upgrades. He provides several stories about buying an RV that he himself bought or from someone he knew. The stories are a fun read especially the one about low balling the dealer on a popular class B+ model.Overall, the book made me realize that the process is similar to buying a car, but unlike a car an RV is a "nice to have" not a necessity so you as a buyer have more leverage and negotiating room when it's time to buy.UPDATEI want to update my review (changing from 5 to 4 stars), after actually going out and trying to purchase an RV using the advice in this book. What I have found is that the advice given is somewhat adequate, but there are some glaring omissions that I had to learn the hard way:1. Price. The book was obviously written with 2009-2012 recession prices in mind. This is no longer the case. I've looked at rigs only to come back a week later and find it was sold. The book stresses Class B+ are hot, but I'm finding A's and C's especially high quality used ones are not staying on RV lots that long. So go ahead and lowball, but you may find that 37-ft class A with the bunkhouse was sold, and there's not another one like it for 400 miles.2. Financing. It's clear the author prefers paying cash, as he mentions this more than once. But for the rest of us who don't have $60-80,000 laying around, financing is the only option. I found out the hard way that practically every bank requires 10% down, sometimes 20% depending on the model, year, and quality of the rig. Don't even bother shopping if you don't have this saved up.3. Inspection. The author clearly is an expert at finding flaws in RVs, but for the rest of us we'll probably need a professional. It can cost between $300-1000 for a qualified inspector to come out to the lot, and it takes a few hours. But if you prefer to wing it, pay closer attention to structural damage as those are rarely covered by either insurance or extended warranty.4. Buying a rental. He makes one passing comment about avoiding rentals, but I visited some lots where you can find some real gems. The rental companies service them regularly. I'd rather buy a coach that's been attended to often than one where the older couple left it to sit in their driveway for months at a time. Sure they sometimes have high miles, but regular service and low cost can negate the shock, and it will probably run for a long time. After all these potential pitfalls, I decided to put my RV purchase on hold. If you have questions please feel free to ask in the comments.Joe

Title: BUY WITH CONFIDENCE
Review: If you are even just thinking of getting into the RV lifestyle and don't have the money for a new RV then there is absolutely NO question that this is the book for you!Mr. Myers lay it all out in a clear and understandable manner, so that even novices like my wife & I can get the message and easily understand exactly what to look out for when looking for that elusive bargain! Our book is highlighted, marked and nearly worn out from reading and re-reading over and over again (the ONLY way to learn and absorb) and we have learned so much that we can almost say to anybody selling us a used RV - beware, we are armed with all the facts.Bill Myers has in our opinion, written the "bible" on this subject, and we cannot recommend it more highly to anyone contemplating buying a Used RV.This book should be required reading BEFORE anyone thinks of handing over their hard earned cash to any seller. We were (are) delighted with the book packed full of facts, information and guidance that we are fully confident that when we finally get to our dream of owning our Class A Motorhome - we will be experts on the do's and don'ts thanks to Bill Myers's outstanding must read book!

Title: Buy This Book Before Buying an RV!
Review: This book gives LOTS of valuable insight into buying a Recreational Vehicle. It is focused on motor homes, but the book is worth buying if you're thinking about buying ANY RV (it enables you to save lots more than the cost of the book!). It could mean the difference between losing thousands of dollars, like I did on my first RV (not knowing what to look for and what to avoid), and making a profit whenever you sell it (I wish I had had this book back then!). I very highly recommend it!

Title: Good points, pricing seems wrong
Review: The book had good details about what to look for in a used MH. The expected purchase prices listed in the book didn't sound realistic. For example, $40,000 for a 3 year old Fleetwood diesel pusher, try finding one for under $100,000 with low miles. I checked copyright and it was 2012. I also checked eBay and didn't find anything less than 10 years old as cheap as the author suggested. Otherwise, the book was good. The pricing listed was a serious distraction since it looked so out-of-date.

Title: Saved me from being scammed
Review: I would like to thank Bill Myers for writing this easy to read and easy to understand informative book. I read it in one sitting and immediately followed his advice. In doing so, that night I followed his suggestion about how to look up vin numbers and what dates can be on a body of an Rv and what is acceptable(1 year difference) compared to what year the rv is listed. I found out I was potentially being scammed by an seller I was going to visit this weekend. I also used the questions he gives in the book to ask sellers and my situation was obvious that things did not add up in this potential deal. I walked away from even seeing the RV unemotional. If I have not read this book I could have bought an RV that was 2 years older than what was listed and owned by multiple owners(per the vin number check) not what the owner told me. I will be using Billâs smart advice to my hunt for a good deal.

Review: I have been considering buying a motor home for over a year but just couldnt find out all the things I really felt I should know before venturing into the unknown. I bought this book because Bill Myers has always offered fantastic information in other books and trainings. I was absolutely thrilled with the content. It tells me all I need to know to select the right motor home for me. There is so much information, all in bite sized, easy to digest pieces, that really fill in the blanks for me. The depth of knowledge he shares is superb. I never even thought about the handling on different roads, but now I will only ever buy one after trying it on a motorway. Also the story about the tyres was a real bonus - thanks Bill.As for the way to negotiate the purchase, that can really be useful in many other situations too. The amount of advice on where and what to research was again, something I didnt expect to find and yet it is so vital to the purchase. After reading this book, which is in an excellent format, I feel empowered to make the right decision and not get my fingers burned or my bank balance looted.A MUST READ for anyone considering purchasing a motor home. I am in the UK and all the information works well here for me too.

Review: There's some very useful advice about motorhomes if you're a complete novice and some handy tips about how to do proper research and negotiate a better deal with sellers. It is more targeted for the US market but much of the advice is useful for UK buyers too. The only downside about this book were the typos which were all too frequent. It seems nobody bothers with proof-reading anymore! Perhaps the next edition will see corrections.Other than that, a good little book from someone who obviously knows what he's talking about.

Review: I'm finding the information useful even if I don't share his taste in RVs. The only thing at is irritating is accessing this kindle book. The only way so far that I can access it is by going to the order. I thought there would be another area.
