Title: *UPDATED!* - Jury's Still Out on Trap Capabilities - but here's my initial thoughts...
Review: **UPDATED**I placed this trap inside a kitchen cabinet, where we had heard faint sounds of scratching & nibbling coming from behind the dishwasher. The trap had been there several days with no mouse - so we figured the mouse must have moved on (I saw it dash through an open patio door one day). But tonight - we heard a sound under the sink. Went to investigate - and voila! We have our mouse! The trap worked GREAT! I took it outside to an area that backs up to a park - and easily released it.** Point the end you open AWAY from you - lift the end cap "UP" - and watch as the mouse runs off. So easy.SO humane.I guess I'll forgive Amazon for sending me an opened/used product.Highly recommend!*For reviews stating the mouse/mice died - if its head was caught in the spring loaded trap door - that's because you DID NOT put the food back far enough!!!! The food must be ALL THE WAY to the end - by the end you open to release the mouse!!! If they had time to turn around to try to get out - that's because the food was NOT at the end! If the mice died because you took 3-4 days to check the trap - that is not the fault of the trap device.----------------------------------------------------Amazon delivered an opened package, where the contents were also clearly opened/used. For that - I give Amazon "0" stars. :(. That said, because I had an immediate need to trap a mouse that ran in through an open door, I had no choice but to keep it. So far - it has not trapped the mouse, but here are some helpful thoughts:1. EASY to operate... I do humane trapping of stray dogs/cats, and this is a well made product for something the size of a small house/field house.2. Humane. This will NOT inhumanely harm or kill a mouse.3. No-Touch method - you can save the mouse and easily release it in a field, where it can go on to do mouse things, and possibly feed raptors and other wildlife who depend on it for THEIR food.4. This is NOT suitable for rats!!!!! NOT FOR RATS! Rats are TOO large and can probably easily eat through the plastic. For those of you rolling your eyes at humane trapping - mice perform a vital function in the wild. They forage for bugs, and keep bug populations in control, and then they are a food source for our raptors, snakes & other creatures who also perform vial functions for wildlife habitats. Poisons, sticky traps, and "snap" traps are not only inhumane, but they cause great harm for unintended victims including small children, pets and wildlife. Please choose to be kind.

Title: Effective, Clean, and Dog-Friendly ((BAIT HACK))
Review: I recently tried the Mouse Motel, and it works like a charm! The setup is super easy, and best of all, itâs not messy. I used peanut butter as bait, but instead of just smearing it inside, I got clever, I tore a small piece of paper towel, folded it over some peanut butter, and stuffed it into the "bait end" of the trap. This way, the smell attracted the mice without making a mess.In just a short time, I caught two mice inside my home. They were stuck in the trap all night, and while they tried to chew their way out, they didnât even make a scratch. Eventually, they gave up. My husband set them free the next day, far away from the house. Iâve since reset the traps, two inside and two outside. I donât think I have any more mice inside, but I'll leave these set just in case, and I love knowing these traps are safe for my dogs. The design is simple, and the clear traps donât look bad sitting out, either.I highly recommend the Mouse Motel. Itâs clean, effective, and humaneâno gross dead mice to deal with. Plus, itâs easy to free the mice far from your home. Iâve used snap traps in the past, and honestly, I hated throwing the whole trap away but didn't want to deal with the aftermath of what those traps do, not to mention the fact theyâre potentially not safe around my dogs. These live traps are a much nicer and safer alternative!

Title: Incredibly Effective!!!
Review: Wow! Even with all the great reviews this exceeded my expectations. I had traditional snap traps up for several weeks and only caught one mouse. They were licking the bait off of the snap traps without getting caught! I thought I might only have one or two mice. My first night deploying Motel Mouse and I caught six!! Six!!! Iâm simultaneously impressed and mortified!I felt horrible trying to kill the little guys and dreaded checking the traditional traps. I would be mortified if one were merely injured and this possibility stressed me out. When I did catch one obviously I had to dispose of the body, which I hated.Benefits:- Apparently more effective than traditional snap traps!- No more dread checking the traps.- Fun releasing a cute little mouse back into the wilderness instead of having to deal with a dead mouse.- Much easier to set up than traditional snap traps. There is no danger of it accidentally snapping down on your finger.- Safe for mouse tails. One mouse had part of his tail sticking out of the door, but it wasnât actually stuck there and the mouse wasnât harmed.- Easy to load with easy-to-clean bait like nuts.- So far no evidence of them getting the bait without being trapped. I think the macadamia nuts help weigh the trigger plate down just a hair.- Reusable. You never have to restock!- Cute mouse pictures!I wore gloves while setting and handling the traps to avoid getting my scent on the traps. My mice got into a bag of expensive organic small Hawaiian farm macadamia nuts I bought on vacation and never got to eat (they are fancy mice with distinguished preferences, and also jerks) so I used that as bait since it was a proven favorite.

Title: So Easy and Effective!
Review: We began finding mouse droppings in our lower level after our neighbors tore out some landscaping. They probably moved into our home looking for a warm place to spend the winter. I baited all 4 traps with a variety of things (nuts, peanut butter, raisins, honey) and placed in the area of the droppings. So far, Iâve caught 3 mice - all with peanut butter as the bait. Iâm releasing them in a large wooded area a couple of miles away. These traps are very easy to bait and set, easy to release captured mice, and fairly easy to clean with the included tool. As a pet owner, I feel good about not using poison in my home, and Iâm happy to be able to set these little creatures free elsewhere.

Review: Took a few minutes to work out how to load food but caught first mouse within 15 minutes. These are replacing traps that worked but were a real pain to use and then just fell apart. These are much sturdier. Good value at £5 each
