Title: Very helpful
Review: I wish we didn't need these books but since we do, I recommend this one. It is written in short chapters so if you are new to grief, this is all you can manage. I am in my 2nd year of this horrible journey after the death of my husband & found this book to be very comforting. It gave me a very good exercise to use when attacked by various emotions. I have read many books on this subject & this was one of the best. I highly recommend it to anyone who has suffered this awful loss. Mrs. M

Title: Very Helpful
Review: Survivors of suicide are usually looking for answers, comfort, and ways to cope. The feelings are horrendous, no way to get around it. This book has helped a little, nothing helps a lot. I have read it twice in 3 months and I got something different from it both times because I'm in a different place. It also reinforces that we need to talk about it, get it out and it will take time. I will read it again.

Title: Great read
Review: I’m not one to leave a review or post comments publicly but I feel this book deserves recognition. After a few weeks I’m finally able to read and comprehend what I’m reading and so many topics related to my thoughts and feelings. The book touches on so many thoughts and feelings, physical and mental grief experiences, relatable stories from survivors, healthy tips, and resources.

Review: Death is hard to navigate, suicide death is amplified in navigation.Gary’s book is written in a way that the reader feels understood and encouraged. The chapters are broken down by areas of grief and each end with a hopeful affirmation. As someone who walked through the death of their first husband to cancer- I thought I knew … but as someone who recently walked through the death of my second husband to suicide- I had no idea how the shock and trauma of it would change the shape of grief.Let these words help you are you walk through the unimaginable.

Title: Heartfelt and Written with Compassion
Review: This is the best book I have read and given to so many that have lost a loved one to suicide. As someone that spends her life dedicated to helping those in crisis and also as a Psychological Autopsy Investigator, this book has been one of the best resources for myself as well as others. It is not written from a clinical point, but more from a compassionate point of view which I find more helpful for individuals in the midst of horrific grief and loss. A must have for anyone struggling with loss.

Title: Good read after losing someone to suicide
Review: My husband killed himself a few months ago. I read this book to try to understand what may have lead to his decision. While I don't agree with everything in the book, it gave some good insight and view points on the topic. If you have lost someone to suicide or know someone who is talking about suicide, I'd definitely recommend reading this book.Don't ignore the warning signs. If a friend or family member needs help, get others involved. You can't help them once they are dead.

Title: Really helpful and compassionate book
Review: I just finished this book. I lost my only sister to suicide Oct. 2019. It's been a tumultuous and painful journey but i am finding a new normal. My whole family is. I felt a lot of anger, guilt, regret, sadness and despair. You have regrets the past, the present and the future that is no longer possible because your loved one is not physically present. This book encouraged me to be kind and patient with myself and also others. It's a lifetime journey. Life will never be the same...but it can be lived well...with kindness and purpose and honoring the memory of the one we deeply loved. Thank you for this book!

Review: I wish I discovered this sooner. It was still very helpful. I would suggest this read to anyone going though this tragic, type of loss. Many books on grief exist, but grief brought on from this type of death is different. If you are reading my review, I want to tell you that I am so very sorry for your loss. Hugs
