Title: Delicious recipes that sparked my cooking creativity
Review: I purchased this cookbook because I have recently become vegan and have been trying to lean new ways to cook vegetables. I grew up in the South where we put pork fat back in all our vegetables so I am trying to relearn how to cook in a healthy way.This Quick and Easy Kale Recipes cookbook opens with a comprehensive discussion of why kale merits the âsuper foodâ label and provides what is quite obviously well researched and well thought out information. Chapter two then goes on to give you a tremendous amount of invaluable information on how to choose and store kale to maintain maximum vitamin content and freshness. The recipe section contains a total of 47 recipes: 9 breakfast, 9 soups, 10 salads, 9 main dishes, and surprisinglyâ¦10 desserts.I was tremendously impressed by the range of recipes. The author has used kale in ways that would never have occurred to me and while not all of the recipes are vegan by any means, it has still been an invaluable resource for teaching me new ways to think about and use vegetables in general and kale in particular. The learning curve to become vegetarian or vegan can be steep for someone who grew up on Southern country cooking and this cookbook was wonderfully helpful in expanding my understanding of the versatility of vegetables.I have noticed a number of people make negative comments about the typos and the fact that not all the recipes are made with strictly healthy ingredients but I did not feel that was enough of a detraction to deduct any stars from my rating. The book title makes no promises about being vegetarianâ¦it merely promises that the recipes will be quick and easy and will utilize kaleâ¦all of which it delivers on in incredibly creative ways.I have tried three of the recipes in the book so far and they were all fantastic but I also read it cover to cover and can tell you that the greatest gift this book gave me was to spark my own creativity; seeing all of the incredibly creative ways the author used this vegetable has inspired me to develop several new recipes of my own.I also want to mention that I received an offer to purchase this Kindle cookbook for free in a exchange for an honest review but when I went to order it it was already listed as being available for free to anyone who wished to purchase it so I could have gotten it for free even without the offer.

Review: Quick and easy kale recipes is a roughly 67 page ebook on recipes just for kale.I was fortunate enough to grow up in a household that not only cook kale but also grew it ourself. Unfortunately that way was in the South and involved a big slab of hog Jaws in a pot of boiling water. Since become an adult and going on a plant-based diet, have continued to look for new and better ways to cook my kale. So here is what you get in this book.Chapter one tells you everything you ever wanted to know about kale and why it's a superfood.It gives you how many calories and what vitamins is in kale. It also explains how he'll helps our body.Chapter 2 tells you how to choose your car when you're at the store and what kind of kale to look for. Then it explains to you exactly how to store your kale so that it remains fresh for as long as possible.Chapter 3 covers the best kale recipes for breakfast. This chapter contains 10 recipes, some of the recipes are breakfast pizza casserole, ham and cheese pinwheels and even pancake muffins.Chapter 4 covers 10 kale recipes for soup. A few of these are Sri Lanka kale coconut soup Kama roadkill soup and Tuscan kale soup.Chapter 5 covers salads and also contains 10 recipes. Some of these include Northern spy kale salad kale salad with lemon and Pecorino and pickled watermelon radish with kale salad.Chapter 6 covers main dishes made with kale. This is my favorite chapter because it has vegetarian lasagna with kale.Chapter 7 has 10 recipes for desserts that include our favorite green superfood. Who couldn't love coconut and chocolate kale chips :)The end of the book has about the author section.Conclusion- overall I was very pleased with this recipe book and then instructions seem to be fairly easy to understand period like with any cookbook I obviously won't use all of these recipes but there's enough of a variety to go through and find something for everyone. I thought the author did a good job and including recipes that are not only adult friendly, but child friendly too.This recipe book includes many recipes that would be considered vegetarian and many vegan as well. When I reviewed this book it was free to everyone, so I had nothing to gain reviewing it other than my love for cooking healthy.*****Disclaimer- I received this book free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.******

Review: Being a lover of kale, I was very excited by the idea of a whole book of recipes featuring this superfood and rushed to buy a copy. But what a disappointment it turned out to be! More of a pamphlet than a book, it appears to have been written by someone whose first language is not English, and is full of irritating typographic mistakes and bad grammar, such as 'through Jennifer's book we get to learn some of the many ways that it can be used to create a fantastic meal, bit it breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack' ,'Eating kale can help a person from getting this condition', 'it's delicious and nutritious benefits', 'Kale has made some resurgence in the past few years as people seek ways to eat healthy', '[Jennifer] pulls out all the stops as her wish is to have the reader experience kale the way she experienced it and to enjoy it just the same', and my favourite: 'Kale helps to protect the bladder as well as bladder cancer.' (!) There are frequent references to something called a 'bun' of kale, which I googled without success - do they mean a bunch? - and there is actually one recipe, 'Kale Miso Salad with Tofu' - which doesn't include kale at all, either in the list of ingredients or in the directions! I can only imagine the book was produced in such a hurry that nobody checked it through before putting it out on the market, and it shows. Definitely not worth the money.
