Title: Recommend
Review: These work very well. It hasnât even been a week since we put them outside and weâve already caught atleast 15 rodents. Only 1 time did one get caught in the trap and survive. Itâs easy to set up and dispose of what is caught. Our exterminator uses a similar style trap but they were pretty expensive just for 2 traps so this what much cheaper route.

Title: Works good
Review: It catches rat good, though after a few uses the locking arm might break. Only one has done that so far. I like that all you have to do is press the handle to release the dead rat.

Title: I've been catching a lot of varmints
Review: I got this to reduce the overpopulation of chipmunks that feasted on my tomatoes and strawberries and other garden produce. They just decimated the strawberries... we got 10 berries. They got fat and pugnacious. And they take one bite and go to the next berry for one bite. So although my husband is feeling a bit sorry for them, I am not. There is nothing natural about stealing garden produce. I am not working in that garden to feed chipmunks.Anyway, as for the traps: I still have 4 functional traps after a couple of months' use. One came broken, two broke shortly thereafter but I combined the parts to make a functional trap, so 4 traps still. One is an iffy trap -- not sure it trips anymore. But three are still champs. They caught a lot of chipmunks through the use of peanut butter bait which I did not put in the bait cup, but smeared at the rear of the trap so the chipmunk would have to really crawl in and definitely trip the trap. That has been working very well, and now that the chipmunk population is reduced (alas, not eliminated) we are starting to catch mice -- which is where putting the bait at the rear is really paying off. Mice are just too light to reliably trip the trap, and so making them crawl in is the only way to actually catch them and save the crops.I try to remember to trip the traps before visitors arrive -- since most of the visitors are young kids and tripping a trap would definitely hurt a bare foot. I had one thumb incident, my fault, and so am much more careful about putting that bait toward the back of the trap. (If you go the bait cup route, this is not an issue but the catch rate is lessened.)So how successful? At first, with 5 traps going I was catching 4 to 7 chippies a day. I am down to one a week now. And at first, I rarely caught a mouse... but am now catching 1 or 2 mice a day. I will continue to use these deep into the fall, and bring them out next year well before the strawberries start to ripen. No sharing any more. All in all, I wish these were sturdier and longer lasting and always tripped when the bait was stolen from the bait cup. (Using the bait cup definitely lessens the catch rate.) But if they do their job for a season, I'll think I got my money's worth. Even with the thumb incident.

Title: These are freaking amazing!!!!
Review: Within 2 hours of setting 6 traps, they caught 4 rats! One trap even caught two at once. All dead but one still moving a bit.Reset and put out more. Farmer just cut down his crops so we have the rodents bad. Using these inside and out. Was impressed with how easy they set and how forceful they clamped down. I am scared of the wooden snap traps for fear of catching my fingers. These set from the back so no concerns at all.

Title: Bait gone, traps not set off.
Review: Could not get bait container to open, but filled with peanut butter and set at all rat trails and holes. In the morning, all the peanut butter was gone, but none of the 6 traps has been set off.

Title: Cheaply made; works 20% of the time
Review: We set up the traps in our garden that has been visited by a population of hungry critters obliterating our produce this year. Traps are easy to set up but get distorted & bent when mice/voles struggle to get free - which they usually do. The bait is gone and they have obviously gotten away. Strength of the traps are not so great. They are made of plastic entirely including the set lock & only a metal clip working to open close the jaws much like the same principle as a wooden clothes pin. Occasionally there is a catch. Only pro is that when there is a catch (far & few between) you can easily release; traps can be cleaned with a water hose & reset with a hope & fingers crossed. There are other traps that look the same as these, perhaps they are designed better - but this particular product is iffy.
