Title: Simple, effective
Review: Our neighbor is a hoarder and there’s little we can do about that but we’ve started getting rats on our property. I’ve tried humane catch/release traps but the bait is always just gone in the morning. I tried sticky pads and there were literally rat footprints walking over them without getting caught. I tried the bucket method and bait was gone with no catches. I know rats can be clever but I was equal parts frustrated and impressed with all my attempts they evaded.Having exhausted all other methods, including an exterminator visit, I bought these traps. It was delivered around 8pm, I set a couple outside and by morning both had successfully worked. The traps are reusable but I just threw both traps away instead of releasing and cleaning. Super effective, simple and affordable. I’ll buy more if necessary.

Title: Rats avoid these just like all traps. No matter what bait you use.
Review: When you are fortunate enough to lure a rat into this trap’s trip lever pad and you have pre-pressed the trigger pad down to ‘hair’ trigger condition this trap will effectively kill and hold the largest rats. When it fires, this trap is a killer! Be careful trying to achieve a ‘hair trigger’ condition! I always use heavy leather gloves because I’ve been snapped many times.But, be aware, today’s rats have been to school at a college level when it come to recognizing and avoiding all traps. I have over thirty of this brand and model traps deployed on my property.The most effective technique that I have found is to deploy the trap in a ‘blind to the rat’ spot like on the other side of an outside corner. The blind side to the direction the rats normally travel. They sometimes bump into the trap, bait or no bait and if you set it to ‘hair trigger’ you’ll have a very dead rat with this trap.The downside of developing good techniques that makes these traps effective is that we are killing all the dumbest ones and leaving only the very brightest to breed.By the way, these adult educated evolved rats know all the poisons too. They won’t go near them even if you mix it with good bait. They know how to separate it out and leave it for you to pick up.

Review: Easier to use than the standard mouse traps. I've seen treats go missing and the trap not activated, but I refilled it and the mouse was caught. I have not caught a rat yet, so not sure if it's big enough for it. Easy to dispose of and reuse. Great price, sturdy plastic

Title: Got a bad batch, 3 brand-new traps failed right out of the package
Review: I've bought these traps several times and they work great, until eventually wearing out, usually after a year or two. But this latest order of 8 traps had 3 of them which wouldn't work. Brand-new and they would not "latch" so they weren't able to be set. I hope the seller sees this because in the past, I had a problem and they responded immediately to set things right for me. Great seller and product, I think this was just a bad batch. Thanks!First day I set all 6 out baited with peanut butter and sunflower seeds. 5 of them triggered without catching anything and two traps were dragged 10 feet away. After reading suggestions here, I made a few modifications. Filled the bait cups with peanut butter mixed with sunflower seeds, and sprinkled a few seeds in the tray as well. I realized part of the problem was that the traps weren't working well on uneven ground, so I screwed the traps to scrap lumber pieces and tied them down with a few feet of twine. Within two days, I caught 3 chipmunks and 5 mice (collateral damage). All the rodents were killed instantly by a snap to the head, so the traps did that well; no having to deal with wounded animals. The chips have been eating my tomatoes so hopefully this will stop that problem.Update after one week. The chipmunk count is up to 8 now, I have been getting roughly one kill per day. One dummy (probably Dale) wandered into the garage in broad daylight maybe 10 minutes after I set the trap and it got him. Not sure who was more surprised, him or me. Most of the traps get triggered every day with no capture, but I'm still winning the war of attrition and my tomatoes are safe.UPDATE after 3 months. I caught 16 chipmunks with these traps, and saved my tomato crop. These traps work great. Nearly every one appeared to be a quick kill, since only 1 of the traps had been moved, and only occasionally get tripped without catching anything. The seller is also awesome: I emailed them asking if I could get replacement bait cups, and they sent me a set for free. I'm ready for spring, bring it on Chips, because I'm ready for you this time.UPDATE; June 2020 Chips came back in early June, so I put the traps out. Baited again with peanut butter and sunflower seeds. I caught 8 Chips in the first 24 hours! I've been at it all month, and the head count (pun) is 20 chips, 2 mice, 1 vole. I actually watched one chip cross the street and trot up my sidewalk, and a minute later the trap got him. Started getting some empty traps that got triggered, so maybe the survivors are getting smarter since I've thinned out the bottom of the gene pool. Of 6 traps, two stopped working (wouldn't latch open anymore), but these things have all been triggered dozens of times now and most are still working great.UPDATE October 2020 - after a year of solid use, all the traps eventually stopped working. There's a little plastic trigger that breaks, but this was after the traps had been triggered dozens of times. I still rate them 5 stars, because they worked great for over a year.UPDATE June, 2021 - I brought another set as soon as the chips appeared. Put 3 traps out and caught 2 in the first hour.

Title: Better than your average snap trap for larger pests.
Review: If you have a small mouse, this is overkill. They may not have enough weight to trigger it. It did a fine job catching a midsize rat that found its way into our apartment complex. It is easy to load. Although I advise you - remember where you put them because I forgot I had a trap, went to clean the area it was hidden in, and got snapped! Hurt for Minute, almost broke the skin, broke, two fingernails, but did no lasting damage to me.

Nos preocupaba que como con otras marcas, las ratas atrapadas se escaparan, pero no fue el caso.Una vez que se prepararon las trampas, notamos que una no funcionaba. No hubo tiempo de devoluciones, ya que la situación apremiaba. En menos de una hora había caído la primera rata. Las demás lo hicieron en un lapso de horas/días.Puntos importantes:1.- Verifiquen la forma adecuada de colocarlas (la posición respecto a los muros y la localización)2.- Es para ratas, más no ratones. Es probable que roedores pequeños puedan escapar3.- Recuerden: a mayor número de trampas, más posibilidades de que caigan, aunque solo sea una rata. Por eso nos gustó este paquete de 124.- Al ser de plástico, no son muy pesadas. Funcionan por asfixia, y no es inmediato. Así que si no quieres tener ratas corriendo por tu patio con trampas en la cabeza: clava o amarra las trampas. Traen orificios para hacerlo

Review: Lo use en un taller y cumplió a la perfección, había ratas grandes y todas murieron, me gusta la facilidad con la que se pueden manejar y colocar. No sé si funcionen con ratones pequeños pero en mi caso si mata ratas grandes. El precio me parece justo.

Review: These are useless. The rodents can eat the contents of the well without setting off the trap. I have had other brands of this large plastic trap before and they never failed me. These are just rat feeders.
