About Suicide: 50 Ways to Kill Yourself is a dark humor educational recipe book. This book contains a useless list of suicide techniques for a cheap and/or offensive chuckle. This book is not about killing yourself. It is an insidious ploy to help people learn more about Suicide, Stress, and Depression. It is our duty to care for one another and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness and treatment. Learn more about possible signs and risk factors of people with suicide and depression, 5 Steps for Helping Someone in Emotional Pain, different forms of depression, and Healthy Ways to Cope with Stress. If you or someone you know needs someone to talk to, please contact one of the following crisis hotlines: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) The Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 Disaster Distress Helpline: 1-800-985-5990 This book would not have been possible without information provided by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and many other doctors and researchers.

Title: Don't let the title fool you! This book is great!
Review: I thought the book was a direct reflection of the title but it turned out to be something much better than anticipated. It's a mix of satire and seriousness that'll have your emotions all over the place. Highly recommended for anyone that may personally be affected by mental illness or someone they know.

Title: To my delight, what I found inside was not a collection ...
Review: As previous reviewers have stated, I was originally completely unsure of what to expect given the title. To my delight, what I found inside was not a collection of suicide encouragement recipes but a series of 50 comedic vignette poems highlighting the realities of life that can induce stress, depression, and suicidal thoughts. The book concludes with an explanation of these three mental issues and ways to cope. It truly was a great read and I 110% recommend this book. If you're on the fence about buying it, just do it. The Kindle version costs less than a cup of coffee from Starbucks.

Title: It's good if you like bad jokes
Review: The introduction was okay but everything after that was lame. I knew the book would be full of jokes instead of ways to kill yourself but there were only 16 "ways to kill yourself" and all of the jokes were bad. After the author ran out of jokes, he filled the remaining pages with information about suicide and mental illness. I appreciate that he tried to spread awareness, but the information felt like it was copied straight out of whatever source he was using and it felt very out of touch

Title: Before it was a "book" it was his lifestyle.
Review: I could be totally biased in my review of this book but the reason I love it so much is because these exact "recipes" saved my life. Before they were words were in a book, Wil used to joke around with me, getting me to open up and talk freely about my depression and suicidal thoughts. He would entertain me by giving me his "recipes for the perfect death" and NONE of them were useful in any way. He got me to (really, he MADE me) see a psychologist and from there I found more help and a larger support team. With his help, I've convinced 4 people I know to seek therapy. The title of this book can be upsetting to some but if you know Wil, this is pretty tame. All you need to know is the author of this book walks the walk and talks the talk.

Title:
Review: This is a book with a catchy title and this is all. I bought this expecting something humorous to help me how others might come to understand suicide ideation through comedy. There aren't 50 ways as implied by the title, rather there are 16. They are all written like they are recipes with a conclusion and it is vague at best and nonsensical at worst. It could have been an AI written book with some minor editing from a human but its just a terrible buy that I finished it in 25 mins and sat for a further 10 minutes trying to understand what I had just read. While there is some useful information scattered in between in terms of contacting help lines, but overall this feels like a quick cash attempt. I right with contempt as you can tell, but this book actually annoyed me! 😮
