With so many loud voices coming from worldly sources about what sex and relationships truly are, how can parents teach their children healthy and righteous perspectives about human sexuality? This guide for parents is a scientifically-informed LDS perspective on how to talk with children in an open and faith-based way that will help them build a foundation of communication and trust, understand the physical body, and understand specific sexual issues such as pornography, self-touching and masturbation, same-sex attraction, and dating.

Title: Very helpful
Review: I didn't realize before ordering this that this was written specifically for an audience of those who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Would be beneficial for other faiths, but they will be unfamiliar with a few things mentioned.Book is well written and gives great tools. I also like that it included pictures to use while teaching your children.

Title: Perfect for LDS audience
Review: Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, like most other Christian denominations, have traditional views of sex being appropriate only within the context of marriage. However, cultural stigmas regarding these topics have influenced the negative ways parents teach these topics (if they do at all) and many children turn to friends or media to make up the difference. This book is based on research and also on LDS “research” (quotes from church leaders) since we seek truth through both temporal and spiritual means. I would say that the thesis of the book is helping children develop healthy sexuality and keeping the parent child relationship healthy in the process.

Title: Great approach
Review: My parents didn’t teach me much about sex. It was a scary/taboo subject in our family. I don’t want that for my kids, so I’ve been trying to use multiple resources including this book to keep our discussions about sex going.I really like how it approaches sex with a “wholeness” perspective. Our goal isn’t to tell kids “just don’t have sex before marriage, sex is bad...” but instead “sex is amazing and we want you to experience it in the best ways possible with the goal of sexual wholeness.” I also like the diagrams and visuals of anatomy with their proper names. It’s all very helpful and gives me more confidence when discussing things with my kids.

Title: AMAZING! Read this. No matter who you are, it will bless someone’s life
Review: I have 6 kids of varying ages, 2 are missionaries and the youngest is 7. I identify as progressive and open-minded especially as it pertains to sexuality. I’ve listened to/participated in several of Jennifer-Finlayson-Fife courses on the topic. I would say this book is hands down the best resource I have ever come in contact with on creating and fostering healthy ideologies about sex among families, children, youth leaders, parents, grandparents, you name it. Never too early to read and never to later to read. Buy it today.
