About Allen Carr
Allen Carr (1934-2006) was a chain-smoker for over 30 years. In 1983, after countless failed attempts to quit, he went from 100 cigarettes a day to zero without suffering withdrawal pangs, without using willpower and without putting on weight. He realised that he had discovered what the world had been waiting for - the Easy Way to Stop Smoking, and embarked on a mission to help cure the world's smokers.

Title: Incredible dose of common sense
Review: I have never read a book on any subject where I was left feeling more empowered. Easy, simple and life changing! Thank you for finally making sense of it all for me. 56 years old and looking forward to my future life of healthier living at my ideal weight. What a burden you've lifted from my life. Thank you. I guess I should thank actor James Spader and Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show because he mentions how he quit smoking reading your book during his interview and even though I don't smoke he made mention of wanting to try your weight loss book as well. Ten minutes later I was reading Allen Carr The Easy Way for Women to Lose Weight on my kindle. I read it all in two days in fact I couldn't stop reading it! I was amazed! Thank you and thank you James Spader... Never thought I'd ever say that! Ha ha!

Review: I actually enjoyed the message in this book. The narration wasn't the best, but the message being sold makes a lot of sense. The key points the book tries to get across is to 1. Be mindful of portions. Stop eating when you're satisfied and not stuffed. 2. Stop eating junk food. This isn't just about sweets or snacks, it's about a lot of the unhealthy foods we eat that are saturated with fats and sodium- this includes the recipes we use to cook. Basically, you need to minimally season your food, eat as many vegetables as possible, reduce meat intake, and don't cut corners during food planning, prep, and cooking. 3. Don't drink your calories. Cut out soda and other drinks high in sugar and caffeine.There are some tips shared on getting you past the bad habits that lead to making poor dietary choices. Most of it's common sense, but information we could all benefit being reminded of. I would say this book helped me come to terms with my addiction to sugar which is where my problem lays with weight gain. Your issue may be totally different. I practiced the advice of changing my reasons for why I eat what I eat and noticed a difference in my eating habits within days. There was no weight loss, but I looked and felt better. I did have a relapse, but I'm on a better track than I was prior to listening to this book. I think using this book as a tool in addition to working out, working with your nutritionist or doctor will put a lot of folks on a better path to health. I gave the book 4 stars because it's repetitive and has a lot of fluff in the first several chapters. It also doesn't do a good job of getting the point. The message is drawn out over several chapters hence it looses alot of people when it talks about certain topics such as "junk food". This book could have been half the size if they didn't stretch it.

Review: The Easyway is sensational. I feel like Iâve overcome my food addiction by the time I finished reading the book. I canât recommend this book enough. Everyone should read it. If not applicable to you, you might become more sensitive and knowledgeable of the problems society presents mankind with marketing foods that are not food at all. This book is enlightening. I feel empowered. This bookâs message aligns with the philosophy that the purpose of life is to learn how to live happily. Iâm ready to go for it!!

Title: Oh, if Iâd only read this decades ago!
Review: I finished Carrâs book Quit Drinking for Women and, as of this writing, have been free of my nightly wine habit for ten days. I also quit drinking coffee and gave up my tortilla chip habit after reading that one. Now Iâm working through several of the eating books. It really was the Easyway.Now Iâm working through the eating books and finding success with this as well. Iâm largely following the recommendation to eat fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, with a few extras and feel great.You really do need to keep an open mind with this. There is some repetition but it is necessary to overcome all the horribly wrong, repetitious messages weâve received about eating. Learning to see healthy eating as a great thing, not a sacrifice, is key. Allen walks you through this. It really might just change my life.

Review: I knew I would enjoy this read. I already read his book on Easy Way for women to quit drinking. I drank for many years I am almost 60 now and I now have no desire to drink. I tried to quit on my own but it seemed so hard cause my husband still drinks but it doesn't phase me. I am a true non drinker. I love it!! Now I'm really excited to lose this extra weight which I truly believe will be a piece of cake. (No pun intended) or piece included.
