Title: This book is packed full of factual information on virgin ...
Review: This book is packed full of factual information on virgin coconut oil and how it works in the body. I found it to be very interesting and was surprised to find so much information on body chemistry and how certain foods can cause problems for us. The most helpful info was learning how other fats which are advertised as "health choices" are destroying us. Unfortunately, it also made me realize how misinformed our American society is regarding fats and general nutritional health. A must read for everyone! You'll learn lots and rethink nutrition.

Title: Didn't like as well as his others...
Review: In my opinion, ANY book by this author is outstanding but the market is so saturated with weight loss books it's hard to sift thru the overwhelming amount of information. I have not used coconut oil for weight loss but the title intrigued me. Having said that, if you really want to know the comprehensive benefits of coconut oil, get his other books: The Miracle of Coconut Oil; & Healing with Coconut Oil (may not be exact title wording). They are extremely informative & helpful. Who knew that this formerly & long-time maligned oil is such a pro-health powerhouse? Those 2 books were among "things that made me go hmmmmm....."

Title: The true weight loss secret is out
Review: Bruce Fife has combined (intentionally or not) the best of "Eat Fat, Lose Fat" by Mary Enig and Sally Fallon and Barry Grove's "Natural Health and Weight Loss". Having tried both and finding them difficult to follow, Fife's book is the great median. First I followed Enig's book, but found it too restrictive. She places a lot of emphasis on fermented foods and while I eat some and understand why we need them, I wasn't able to eat them to the extent that she recommends. Grove's book, on the other hand, places a lot of emphasis on eating animal fats, specifically pork fat. In the beginning I enjoyed the bacon and tried to eat other types of pork but found it really difficult. The bacon was too salty and after a while I really didn't like eating that much pork. I almost felt sick of it (I have to say that I am Jewish and pork was never part of my eating habits, unless I eat Chinese food - then it was kosher!). I did lose weight with Groves, but it was hard to maintain.Bruce Fife's plan works very well. In fact I cannot conceive of eating any other way now. If I couldn't have the coconut oil and butter and other fats, I don't know what I'd eat. I feel better than I have in years. I used to have knee pain and that is gone. My skin is not dry (I've had skin problems for years that are clearing up now). My only problem is that it is easy to slip into a pattern of eating too much protein. That has prevented weight loss and in fact caused some slight weight gain. Keeping a food log is helpful to avoid that pitfall. But when I make sure I get enough fat I definitely eat less. I am amazed, sometimes at how much less. Weight loss is slow but steady. This is the secret the diet industry doesn't want you to know!One last note: my holistic doctor is so impressed with this program that he has been following it himself, has seen the benefits and is beginning to apply it in his practice. He is really excited about this truly different way of eating.

Title: Great insightful book
Review: This is a great insightful book and I will start changing my diet as soon as I am finished reading it. The only problem I have is that it took a month to reach me, after paying a huge amount on shipping. I new it would take that long because were advised accordingly beforehand, however I am amazed that a big company like Amazon can't negotiate a better shipping rate for it's customers. This is the only reason why I would rather shop at other companies with much better shipping rates and the delivery time is only a week or less.

Review: Nachdem ich von Bruce Fife das Buch über die Heilkräfte der Kokosnuss gelesen hatte, sah ich dieses und bestellte es. Es war für mich ein Augenöffner, der mir von meinem Arzt bestätigt wurde. Welche Fette soll man essen? Es steht in dem Buch. Und man soll überhaupt nicht die Fette weglassen, sondern die Kohlhydrate. Ich esse trotzdem viel frisches Obst. Meine Pfunde sind gepurzelt, meine Blutzuckerwerte sind wieder in Ordnung. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Vielleicht kommt ja noch jemand auf die Idee, das Buch zu übersetzen.

Review: I have an underactive thyroid and have tried to lose weight ever since it started, this is the only book that has been helpful.
