The U342-HGU3 USB 3.0 Docking Station expands the capabilities of your Microsoft Surface or Surface Pro by adding Gigabit Ethernet access, a 4K-enabled HDMI monitor, and up to three USB peripherals, such as a printer, scanner and external hard drive. It’s compatible with all Surface models and versions. Its built-in stretching bracket allows it to fit perfectly on the Surface kickstand. No software or drivers are needed.
Access a 10/100/1000 Mbps wired network without an internal Ethernet card. The RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connection complies with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards and supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, as well as full- and half-duplex operations, Wake-on-LAN, jumbo frames, VLAN tagging and auto-MDIX. It also supports Checksum Offload Engine (COE) to reduce CPU loading.
The USB 3.0 ports achieve data transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps without compromising signal quality. They’re backward compatible with previous USB generations.
You can also stream movies, video games and other video content from your Surface device to a larger 4K-enabled television or monitor. Just connect the included Mini DisplayPort cable between the U342-HGU3’s Mini DisplayPort and your Surface. Then connect an HDMI cable (sold separately) between the U342-HGU3 and the television or monitor to see UHD video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) @ 24/25/30Hz.

Title: Great card at a great price
Review: This is a great card at a great price. We declined to purchase the earlier version because I didn't want to manage another java applet device. But this card is all HTML5. It installs while the UPS is powered on, and this hot-swappable feature is very convenient. Now I can monitor and control remotely without going onsite.Interestingly it seems to be running Ubuntu 16.04. I intend to do a firmware upgrade, and perhaps this will move it to Ubuntu 18.04.

Title: Expensive and unreliable
Review: After running multiple APC PDUs for decades I was getting tired of the slow web interface so I thought I'd give Tripp Lite a try to see if their interface was better. It seemed like the worst-case scenario was that this was just a sidegrade rather than an upgrade. Turns out, it was much, much worse. The networking card died after just a few years and Tripp Lite wouldn't stand by it, instead insisting that I spend $400 plus labor to replace it myself.

Title: Works as advertised.
Review: This item works as advertised. I replaced one of the older versions of the management cards with this one because it was getting increasingly difficult to get the java applet in the older version to work with newer browsers. This one works fine in every browser I tried, including the ones that come with IOS (iPhone and iPad). The interface itself is pretty basic and plain, but it does adequately communicate the information you need and allows you to configure the UPS, which is really all that's required.

Review: Tha card arrived in a stained box with open packaging inside. Default login credentials did not work. Submitted a support ticket, but then realized that it was probably used/refurbished so I performed a factory reset and voilla. Item description does not state that the card would be used or refurbished. Had I known, I would have bought elsewhere or at least did a factory reset right away.

Review: Mine stops communicating with the UPS every day. Contacted Tripp Lite support and they recommended me to configure a daily automatic reboot of the card... Updated the firmware to the latest version, without any improvement. Power goes out, but we don't receive any notification and our system doesn't shut down. After almost one year without any update, the latest firmware changelog announced only 5 fixes but 95 known issues... Is there any developer working for Tripp Lite?Their PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent supports Fedora 8, a distribution released in 2007 and OpenSuse 11, released in 2009...

Customers say

Customers like the functionality of the product. They mention it works perfectly for their application and allows multiple servers to be shut down in the event of an emergency. However, some customers have reported that the board crashes about every three months and requires a hardware reset to start.
