A prescriptive and timely guide to finding success and happiness without a college degree by Ken Rusk, the Ohio-based entrepreneur and "million-dollar ditch digger" who believes it is time to celebrate the possibilities and financial opportunities that a blue-collar life can bring.

A blue-collar approach to creating a life you love.

In a period of skyrocketing student loan debt without the promise of high-paying employment, and in an economy in desperate need of skilled tradespeople, many are seeking new paths. Ken Rusk, the "million-dollar ditch digger", is here to show you that blue-collar trades are a source of pride and that you can - and will - find your version of happiness by pursuing a good old-fashioned craft.

In Blue Collar Cash, Ken shares his insights from more than 30 years working in blue-collar trades as an entrepreneur, mentor, and life coach. Ken knows from his own experience - first as a young kid digging ditches and then as the owner of a successful concrete construction business - that working with your hands at a job that takes skill and practice can be monumentally rewarding and life-affirming. Since then, he has built a multimillion-dollar business and gone on to mentor hundreds of employees in how to manage their money and set achievable goals.

Using the stories of those who have discovered lives of comfort, peace, and freedom, Ken creates a step-by-step, interactive guide - including financial planning and savings advice - to creating alternative and realistic routes to success and fulfillment.

Title: This gets the CAPitalized Seal of Approval! One of the best books from my many podcast guests!
Review: We have been fortunate to have guests from all walks of life on the podcast. You name it, we've had it: business owners, celebrities, famous investors, financial influencers and athletes...just to name a few. The majority of them have written their own book and, as an author myself, you can quickly tell who ACTUALLY wrote their book vs. who 'wrote' it by hiring a ghostwriter and then doing the fine tune edits at the end. Not degrading the latter by any means, but I am a believer that, especially if it's your first book, you want to roll up your sleeves and put that sincere heart and effort into it.Ken did ALL of that and then some!!!Ken has become a dear friend of mine and after our initial introduction, being a fellow author, I had to support his story! Once I got it in my hand and cracked it open...that's when I knew that this was not just any old finance book (trust me...I have read PLENTY of those in my day).Blue Collar Ca$h is the perfect book for those either thinking about getting into the blue collar field and/or those that are already in it and needing guidance on what to do with their newfound 'wealth'. I use 'wealth' in quotes strategically, as Ken emphasizes that success is much more than simply the dollars you earn. There is charitable givings you have to think about, your employees (if you run the business), your family, your health...the list goes on and Ken dives into every single aspect.I had a wonderful time soaking up Blue Collar Ca$h like a sponge and I can tell you that, on a personal level, Ken is the exact same outside of the book as he is when he was writing it: genuine, sincere and profoundly dedicated to bettering the lives of those that have come after him.You absolutely need this book in your life!!!

Title: It's Not What You Do for A Living That Matters
Review: It's not what you do for a living that matters. It's what you do with what you do for a living that counts. In "Blue Collar Cash," Ken Rusk encourages the reader to get powerfully clear on what they want from life. More than money and things, what we ultimately want is Comfort, Peace, and Freedom: achieving what matters most to us, living life on our terms, and being the person in charge of our lives. In pursuit of Comfort, Peace, and Freedom, the path to college is the right choice for some people - but not everyone. Even when it is the right path, today's graduates are often burdened with massive debt and an increasingly saturated job market. And when those jobs can be found, it can take more than a decade to pay off that debt and get established professionally. For the person seeking to avoid cubicle life, massive debt, and dreams put on hold, and (here's the important part) who is confident enough to go against conventional wisdom, there is another path: skilled trades. Think the author is overselling the idea? Look for someone to write computer code. You'll have a thousand qualified candidates. Need someone to repair your car or remodel your kitchen? You'll wait months. Or longer. And it's not because "nobody wants to work." It's because too many people have overlooked or outright dismissed opportunities found in skilled trade professions. And those opportunities will be massive over the next two decades, as a generation of skilled trade pros retires to enjoy the fruits of their (often very) fulfilling (and just as often, very lucrative) labors.Ken makes a powerful case that Comfort, Peace, and Freedom can be found in skilled trade professions - not to mention a living wage, competitive benefits, a humane work week, and abundant opportunities for entrepreneurship and giving back. He shares compelling stories of people who created beautiful lives for themselves, with meaningful work and a fulfilling life off the clock.Ken's best advice: Think differently about what matters. "Love Your Work. Secure Your Future. Find Happiness for Life." Because it turns out the American Dream isn't dead. You just might find it in a really unexpected place.

Title: College degrees don’t equate to a fulfilled life.
Review: Blue Collar Cash upends the current notion that all young people must go to college to have a stable life. Given the staggering cost of college (and the anchor of debt upon graduation) and the fact that many college degrees don’t provide tangible skills, gaining a trade skill and starting one’s own business can be a path to a far more satisfying future. This is definitely something I intend to share with the young people in my life although, at my stage in my career, not something that is too valuable to me personally.
