Title: Great quality and look
Review: I love this receiver! I bought it based on the Wirecutter recommendation, even though I was originally planning to buy a used amplifier/receiver for cheaper. And I'm very glad I did, this one feels very high quality and was easy to set up. I have it attached (with speaker wire which FYI you need to buy separately for other audio newbies) to two bookshelf speakers and my Sony record player, and it works like a charm. The volume knob feels nice and the whole thing is very aesthetically pleasing. The sound quality seems fantastic (coming from someone who moved from a teeny bluetooth speaker to real speakers), and IMO it's great for the price.

Title: LOVE IT - Great Performance and Great Price
Review: Speaking as a self-described "audiophile" (but a true audiophile with deep pockets would likely laugh), this was one of the best gifts I've given to myself in recent years (as I have a fairly large music library of nearly 600 albums of 1/3 vinyl, 2/3 CDs and some cassettes).Bought mine back in March--used to be $200, but when I saw it for $150 any hesitation went out the window and I grabbed it. I have been in love with it ever since. Fabulous sound and power (do you really need more than 100 watts per channel?), great remote control (not used to that, believe it or not), and it lives up to Sony quality. Powers my vintage components perfectly:> MCS Series 6202 Belt-Driven Turntable (had it since early 80s)> Nacamichi BX-300 Cassette Deck> Sony DVP-NS725P Disc Player (DVD but used mainly for CDs - audio-only connection)> LG TV connected via optical-to-analog adapter> KEF Reference Series 103/3 Stereo SpeakersInteresting observation about the way the ports are labeled on the back: what would traditionally be identified as a tape deck port (with IN/OUT) is just "Input 4," and while it's connected to my tape deck for playback, the REC-OUT is connected to a USB audio adapter to digitally record anything (mostly vinyl of course) to my laptop for mastering and iPod/digital library access. The Bluetooth connectivity is awesome as well with powerful range - great for playing music from mobile devices (phone and iPod Classic with BT adapter). The front line-in 3.5 port, identified as a "Portable" is also a great feature. At first, I was surprised that there was no input for optical, however since digital-to analog adapters are inexpensive and readily available, I think it's best to leave it that way. Would rather have the option, rather than an optical-only port that would otherwise go unused unless one had a component that required it.HOWEVER, if I were to make any improvements, it would be to add a USB Out port (preferably on the front), for digital recording on a PC. However again, since adapters are inexpensive and accessible, and for the price I paid for this device, I ain't gonna complain. Front level analog balance, bass and treble controls would also be nice, but you have access to all that through the menu.If you feel due for a simple, powerful and awesome stereo receiver/amplifier upgrade without breaking your monthly budget, this is a winner.

Title: Great quality at a great price.
Review: This is the perfect choice for the music lover that doesn't want to spend a fortune and is fed up with porr quality of a simple Bluetooth speaker. Pair with some Sony SSCS5 speakers which can be found around $100 and you'll be amazed at the upgrade. Works with record players or any other audio equipment (will not be good for entertainment centers to hook up tvs) I purchased a separate Schiit Mani 2 for my phono pre amp and to be honest the difference is minimal so the built in phono amp is sufficient for most people. Can power most types of speakers but not super high end ones using 4 OHMS. Has A/B switcher so you can hook up 4 speakers in different rooms and use 2 at a time or all 4 at once. I mounted 2 speakers in my workout room and can switch between them with the push of a button. This is not a feature rich device so there is minimal EQ options (has bass and treble). Overall you can not get a better strictly audio receiver for the price.

Title: Decent inexpensive receiver, FM antenna jack not a good idea
Review: My 30+-year old Sony STR-AV320 receiver finally stopped working, so I was in search of a comparable replacement. This model seemed suitable for my needs. It's missing a couple of features of the old model: an AM tuner, and loudness compensation. Those missing features aren't deal-breakers for me.There's built-in Bluetooth, which I really appreciate. The sound is just great with my old Cambridge Soundworks speakers, noticeably better than with the old receiver (which was really never so great). My major complaint, and why I'm knocking off a star, is the FM antenna connector, which uses a small plug. That means I can't use the FM antenna of my choice, and the one supplied is very short. What's worse, I needed to remove the antenna to pack for a move and when I tried that, the wire came clean out of the antenna plug, so now I have to find a new antenna. I'm supposing Sony won't replace it under warranty. Screw terminals or spring-loaded connectors for the antenna would have been much better.

Review: Es fácil de instalar y usar. Buen equipo para los que iniciamos en la audiofilia, le conecte unas bocinas Polk T50 y se escuchan muy bien en general; si notas la diferencia en calidad de audio. Lo recomiendo

Review: This Sony is exactly what many people need. Sony has figured out how to deliver higher quality products with money saving design choices that look great together. They downloaded most settings and features to a high quality remote control leaving just 2 knobs and a few tiny buttons on the amp itself. It is a nice simple look. I am driving a pair of AR3a in the front with an ADS rear. No problem with volume. It has a level setting for phono cartridge which greatly improved my Rega / Ortofon combo. Another $$ saving idea is no pass through of AC power in the back. Be aware that you will probably need a power bar if you have several other things to plug in. But of course you already have one of those with a good switch and surge suppression.A Warehouse deal was about $100 less than the already low $300 price. If you have the time (and you usually do) then it is often the case that you can find a minor scratched item or one that the packing isnât 100% and the price is usually significantly reduced. Once you understand that you can return anything that arrives broken then you will find that certain types of products, especially consumer electronic equipment from Major Manufacturers are designed to be shipped without much going wrong. I have bought many items with no issues and only had to return something occasionally. This unit had a big dent on the case that canât really be noticed and that also does absolutely nothing to the sound or performance.

Review: Bought this to replace my aging 31-year-old Sony receiver. It has all the features I need and more (the Bluetooth is certainly a nice modern comfort that I appreciated a lot.) It was super easy to get everything plugged in and set up, name my inputs, and set my FM radio presets. Only problem is that I couldn't get my Google TV remote to power it on/off, but volume and input functions work (and the remote that this unit comes with is pretty great on its own, honestly.) Highly recommend to anyone who wants a fairly basic (but extremely high quality) stereo system without having to blow an insane amount of cash.
Customers say
Customers like the sound quality, bluetooth connectivity, and value of the AV receiver. They mention it has enough power to drown out any surrounding noise, is ideal for poolside speaker setups, and works great for a very reasonable price. Some appreciate the receiver's quality and ease of use.
