Title: Great book - easy to read and very practical
Review: For someone at the heels of turning 40, who regularly works out and has experienced various injuries - this book is great. I have discovered that this book really helps to target areas that we begin to take for granted as we age. Not only does it target various muscle groups, but it also helps to identify exercises and drills that help to minimize strain on important areas that we may take for granted in our teens and 20's - the knees and back.If you think that this book is all about exercise, it is not. It also provides various nutritional tips, coping with stress and the importance of getting rest. There have been several people that I have referred this book and they have enjoyed it. The most important thing is putting various concepts to practice. Even if you initially are unable to perform various exercises, don't become discouraged. There are other substitutes that you can perform - and the book even addresses this.I have not tried the various recipes yet; however, one book that is a good recipe supplement is the "Mastering Your Metabolism Cookbook".So, if you are soon-to-be 40, 40-something or 40+ this is a good book for you. Even if you simply use it as a supplement to another book, it is a good resource to have in your library. The most important thing is using various principles - not letting the book sit and collect dust.

Title: A users manual for your forties.
Review: I bought this book based on the reviews here on Amazon. I have to say I was not disappointed. The book is set up so that you can pick and choose the chapters you want to read. In other words you do not have to read it in order. I found there is a ton of very useful information concerning diet, care, exercise and more. A lot of it is common sense, however if you are like me and only see a doctor once or twice a year there is a great deal of information here that will give some insight into problems you may begin to encounter after the forty mark. It has also convinced me to see the doctor a little more often. If you are looking for specific workout or exercise routines you will be disappointed. There are plenty of other great books for that. This is a good starting point for any man hitting forty and not sure what questions to ask your doctor, trainer or dietitian. Also a good idea of what you can expect physically and maybe mentally starting the second half of your life.

Title: It was a really informative book.... ...
Review: It was a really informative book....if it was your first time reading most of that information. I've been doing research on different fitness methods and health and fitness in general. All of it is the same, from the diets to the exercises. I'm already doing what that book talked about, but it was well written.

Title: good book for 40+
Review: This book "you best body at 40+" is a good narrative for those adults over 40 that want to finally have one book for an overall approach. This book outlines the best foods to eat and has a complete workout that will easily take the reader through a complete body transformation. This book doesn't have a diet, but talks about good nutrition. It lists foods that are good for the body and ones that should be consumed everyday. IT also shows an extensive workout that easy to complete and gives the reader a real good opportunity to finally get rid of the fat and get in shape and most importantly stay in shape. You can't get there without exercise and cardiovascular conditioning isn't enough by itself. This book gives great advice on cardio, strength training and nutrition.

Title: Decent book.
Review: Pretty good book. I enjoyed going through it and coming up with some workout plans. I've made changes to my routine and have come back to this book at times. Sure, you can find most of this information and the routines online but it's nice having a lot of it in one place. Plus, I like being able to sit and read while having my coffee. This book isn't the end-all by any means but it's pretty decent.

Title: A good summary
Review: This book is a good summary for everything you need to know about wellness. I loved the concept of combining both food and exercise balance. The grooming part is not bad as well. The focus on quality of food and their relation to the good condition of the heart was great too. Exercise plan is simple yet for the serious person it would get good results. I've read it twice already and making a short list from it in my wellness journal.

Title: great content, well written, easy to use methods & very do-able
Review: Content is very good. Well thought-out, relevant, not to much detail. It's well written. Easy to break into chunks to read, logical layout of sections.the exercises and other content (quick & easy recipes, etc) are explained and illustrated. For obvious reasons, it feels like a Men's Health product, i.e. the right sort of content to appeal to the MH reader, with anecdotes & vignettes to reinforce that it's all achievable by normal people.

Review: As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized just how important it is for me to take better careful myself. I got this book to help guide me and for the most part it is pretty good. There’s a lot of good advice and information on eating, exercise, dealing with stress, and other important topics.Of course, there are flaws. Like a lot of Men’s Health stuff, it tends to assume you have a good bit of disposable income for all the bells and whistles they suggest. There’s also advice about supplements that is contradicted by the advice from doctors that I’ve heard. So take that advice with a grain of salt.Still, this is a good book for starting to get yourself in better shape.

Review: Now in my early forties, I found this book to be a breath of fresh air. It clearly explains what you (as a middle aged man) need to do to stay fit and healthy. The cover gives the impression of a man on steroids, protein drinks and the rest, but this couldn't be further from the truth concerning the content of the book. It's definitely helping to make me into a healthier person, so yeah I would definitely recommend it.
