The night of Jasper and Poppie’s reunion ends with a first kiss, a black eye, and a new family member. After ten months apart, Poppie returns for Lewis’s wedding, arriving on the island in time for St. Patrick’s Day. On Gracie Island, any holiday that involves drinking is a big hit.
But just like the weather off the coast of Maine, Jasper and Poppie’s budding relationship is a bit unpredictable. The emotional mix of sunshine, fog, and rain keeps them both on their toes as they try to stay on course.
As Lewis’ wedding day approaches, stubbornness and hurt feelings threaten to ruin the day. Can Jasper and Poppie put their pride aside long enough to make it to the reception?
Follow Jasper and Poppie in the second Gracie Island Book as they navigate the rough waters of an unlikely relationship on a tiny island where everybody knows everybody and there are no secrets.

The Deputy
Eighteen months after the loss of his wife, Deputy Jasper Goodspeed wasn’t ready to move on. He’d learned to get up every morning, do his job, and smile when necessary. But enjoying himself wasn’t on his list of things to do.
On the evening of his first murder investigation, he was halfway through a night of drinking himself into oblivion. Forgetting was a good thing, if only for one night a month.
Living on an isolated island with a population of three hundred, crime was almost non-existent. Murder, especially one witnessed by the deputy’s best friend and his visiting sister, Poppie, was a once in a lifetime occurrence.
As rare as it was, Deputy Goodspeed didn’t need a partner. Certainly not one as stubborn as Poppie. Her ability to make him genuinely smile was intriguing and utterly frustrating.
While he tries to ignore his growing feelings for Poppie, Jasper’s friends and family attempt to convince him she’s just what he needs to bring a little sunshine into his dreary existence.

The Chief
Jasper may be Gracie Island’s new Chief, but to Poppie, he’ll always be her tall sexy Deputy.
Jasper’s new duties keep him busy, as he trains a new deputy and deals with the usual small-town mischief. When Poppie surprises him with her return to the island, he’s excited to share the Fourth of July celebration with her. The locals come out in force with crafts, homemade goods, food booths, and a beer tent featuring locally made hard cider. After the two rival ball teams play, it’s time for fireworks on the beach.
When Jasper decides to ask Poppie to marry him, his traditional surprise proposal gets derailed multiple times. Will hard cider, a firework accident, wayward snakes, and a moment of panic prevent Jasper from asking Poppie the question she already knows is coming?
The Family Man
Chief Jasper Goodspeed’s compulsion to protect those he loves kicks into overdrive when Hurricane Ruth threatens Gracie Island.
As he gathers his friends and family and makes sure they’re safe from the impeding storm, Jasper hopes his very pregnant wife, Poppie, doesn’t go into labor.
After last-minute preparations are made to secure the town against the high wind and the rising water, most of the islanders gather at the old Ice House building, while Jasper, his family, and their friends, hunker down in the basement of the sheriff’s department.
When the winds die down, and the rain stops, what will be left of Gracie Island? No matter what kind of devastation they may face after the storm passes, the residents of the island will band together as they always have to make their home whole again.
That’s what they do. They’re Gracie Islanders.

Title: Lovely
Review: This was a lovely story! Lots of action, though not the usual. Lot of family dynamics, small town Sheriffs who wear many hats. Just an all around lovely story! Highly recommend.

Title: Chief Sweetheart!!
Review: Poppies + Jasper. Book 2. The fun goes on. Not as much action in this one but enough excitement. I don't usually like continued stories but this one has stayed good. So glad James didn't die without he and Jasper getting peace! I hate that Poppies is having to leave but this does happen in real life too. Can't wait to see what's next
