Title: Great value...
Review: Very well made and sturdy. I cook.alot and needed cutting boards that could stand up to some punishment. These boards fit the bill and look great too. I actually serve on them often as well because it has a groove that catches liquids. Makes sure to oil them well before use.

Title: At first glance, wow! Updated review...
Review: I've never purchased wooden cutting boards before. I was blown away when I opened these up because they are really beefy-looking and the wood is so beautiful. When friends walk through my kitchen, they actually comment on how pretty these boards look! I don't know what to expect regarding upkeep and longevity, but it is a little sad to see the slice marks my knives leave on this beautiful wood. That may be just the way it is supposed to be. I will give them 3 months more and update this review in early 2021.UPDATE: yeah, these boards were never intended to be used for cutting. Pretty for kitchen decor, and perhaps a good display tray for cheeses, but useless as a cutting board. They are too soft, and the surface will show every gash your knife makes as it passes over the wood. They become really hideous looking in no time. I've been trying to cut on one side only and then I display the undamaged sides. Poor investment.

Title: Pretty, But....
Review: This is the second round of cutting boards that I have purchased that have been disappointing. The boards are good sizes and pretty, but it is raw wood (is that even food safe?). I bought food safe cutting board oil (because of the reviews I read I knew I would need it) and oiled the boards 4x before using for the first time. They are very porous and rough. I am hoping if I continue oiling between uses it will correct some of the issue.

Title: Soft wood leaves gashes after cutting, shellac finish comes off in your food
Review: These cutting boards were beautiful when they first arrived and I was surprised at how thick and hefty they were. I followed all treatment instructions and oiled the boards before first use. However, upon first use the cutting boards were destroyed, at least aesthetically. The wood is surprisingly soft and I actually can’t believe it is used for a cutting board. As you can see in the photos, cut marks appeared after first use and are now permanently there. I cut a pizza with a pizza wheel and it left very deep gash. My old bamboo cutting boards never did this and were much stronger.*Update*After a few months of using these boards, I’m dropping them down to 1 star. They stink. See the last photo I uploaded - this is what all of them look like now. The worst part is the dark wood color on the outside is some sort of shellac finish that now comes off on all food we cut on the boards. Little brown flecks of it are in everything and we’ve likely been eating it for months. We are throwing them away and going back to raw bamboo boards.
