WORD SPLICE - A new word forming card game for kids and families that is easy to learn and fast fun to play! Imagine a card game that is a cross between “Scrabble” and “Rummy”. The deck has 84 letter cards and 6 wild cards. The deck is shuffled and each player starts out with seven cards. The first player takes his or her turn by placing down any words they can make from the cards in their hand. Wild cards can be used to complete words as well! When the turn is over, the point value of each word in play is counted and added to the player’s score, and then that player draws back up to seven cards. Brand new words get double points! The next player can then put down their own words, and also “SPLICE” letters into existing words to make new words! Wild cards in play can also be swapped into the current player’s hand if he or she can exchange the existing letter for a new one and still make a word. When there aren’t enough cards left for the player to draw back up to 7 cards, the last round begins. After each player takes their last turn, any cards left in hand are subtracted from that player’s overall score. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins! Additionally, there are also five versions of WORD SPLICE Solitaire included in the rule book. WORD SPLICE, a one to six player game for children and families ages 7 and up! Educational and fun at the same time. Word Fun for Everyone!

Title: My Favorite Game!!!
Review: We Love Splice! It has become one of our favorite past-times! Itâs similar to or the Card version of Scrabble without the headache of the wooden tiles! The words you can create are endless! I definitely would recommend to Friends & Family!

Title: 500 Rummy with words!
Review: This is the type of game where you are like, "Why didn't I think of that?" My daughter and I love playing cards! What became a daily event during quarantine still continues, but now it's more of a weekend event. Word Splice plays like rummy and scrabble. We are really enjoying this take on a classic. We made a few adjustments to the rules, "house rules" if you will. We lay out the discard pile just like one might in 500 rummy. You can pick up the pile, back to the card you want, but all those cards go into your hand and you must immediately play the card you picked up for. We are having a lot of fun with this game, its been a great addition to our collection. The game instructions offer several variations for solo games as well as multi player. I took off a star because the physical pieces of the game are lacking, such as the quality of the cards and the sturdiness of the box, which could certainly be better, but the game plays well and the possibilities are endless. I could even see this in a classroom setting as it certainly has educational benefits as far as spelling and vocabulary are concerned. Overall, I am pleased and so is my teen daughter! Two thumbs up! ðð»

Title: Fun word game with retro styling
Review: This game has been a hit for my whole family! I am a word nerd who loves scrabble. But I literally have to beg to get my family to play with me, mostly because I win. Oh, and they don't like how long it takes (for me to rack my brain and try to use every tile). Haha!Anyway, Word Splice goes a lot faster and is easier to play for people who aren't total word nerds like me. I also enjoy it. I will admit, it's not so challenging for word nerds, but the rest of the family has fun and its a good compromise for me and my family. It's super easy to learn and when you really need to have word fun, there is a solitaire mode for when no one will play word games with you. Either solitaire or with others, its a good way to put the screens down for awhile! This doesn't really matter, but the box, colors, and design have a very retro vibe to me. Kinda brings back memories when game nights and cards were more common than phones 🙂

Title: Good base idea but needs improvements
Review: The cards themselves have a nice feel, like a regular deck of playing cards. Glides easily in your hands and on the playing surface.I DO like that the instructions were easy to understand AND offered several different ways to play. That being said, the original version is a bit of a pain to keep score and keep track of the words. The premise of the game is good, but if I played again, I would change the rules for making words and for keeping score. The solitaire versions are ok, but same as above, if I played again, I would change some of the rules.Overall I think it is a decent deck of cards but since I feel different rules and scorekeeping are needed to make this fun, I don't believe it is worth the cost. If they lowered the cost, or preferable changed the rules/scoring, I still think the price is a little high.I also would not recommend this game for kids as stated in the ad "Kids Age 7 and up".

Title: My grandson loves this game
Review: My grandson is a horrible speller so I got him this for his birthday hoping that it might help in someway. We don't play by the rules of the game but who cares. We don't try to keep score. So I can't tell you about any of that but the way we play which is just to see how we can change up the words as we choose and make new words has been super fun. He actually wanted to play more than once which is amazing. If you have a child that is a horrible speller also this is a fun game to have. If he is unsure of a word or how it is spelled I make him look it up in the dictionary and he has even found words he didn't know he could make and he looks at the definitions which is fascinating to him. I consider this a must have in our household.

Title: I can't quite figure out how to play with the instructions provided.....
Review: Here's my input. I think the instructions are very confusing and overly complicated. Each letter came with some scores for you to calculate. In my opinion, it's a stack of letters for you to practice spelling in the form of a game with your kids, and I made my own rules and it worked with less frustration. So I can't really say it's better than our good old bananagrams. They appear to be games of the same kind to me. I hope this review helps....
