ONE DAY. THAT'S ALL IT TAKES TO CHANGE A LIFE...
A YOUNG COUPLE. A NEW BABY. PLANS FOR THE FUTURE. As a wife, new mom and successful career woman, Kristen Brown thinks her life is set. Until one morning, her husband doesn't wake up.
In this bittersweet memoir, we experience Brown's new life as a young widow mom grappling with the shock, pain and regret following her husband's unexpected death while managing a stressful work situation amidst the downfall of the economy. But not wanting to be a "sad mom," she instead harnesses her emotions into a positive force in her life. Through a process of life-changing experiences like surfing, getting "inked" and starting her own company that takes her to Hollywood, she discovers her life's purpose to be the role model for her daughter she longs to be-and becomes a role model for others in the process.
Kristen Brown captivates us with her story of transformation that is filled with the universal elements of loss, love, hope, humor and our ongoing search for answers that changes our perspective on the meaning of life and how we should live it. Kristen Brown bares her soul and shows us that loss can color our experiences and empower us to do more, be more and hope for more than we ever thought possible.

Title: Heart Breaking!!
Review: This book was amazing and captured my attention immediately! What a creative writer! She opens herself up to all of us as if we were her best friends, and that has to be so hard to do. I found her book to be very emotional..there were tears, laughter, smiles and happiness. What she and her beautiful daughter, Brooke, have gone through would make anyone wonder if it will ever get better. She pulled herself up, dusted herself off and became a wonderful role model for her daughter. The determination in her motivates me to be a better person and not take anything for granted. Thank you, Kristen, for sharing your story. I HIGHLY recommend it. Good luck to you and your family.

Title: A Great Relatable Book
Review: Honestly, I read this book in an entire day because I could not put it down. It right in the center of my heart. I lost my very best friend at the age of 22 and our bond was so strong. Although it isn't the same relation as losing your husband, the way Kristen describes the feelings and thoughts she had was so amazing to me because I could relate and understand and for the first time I felt as if there was just one other person that actually did understand what I felt. This book is AMAZING! So well written and I love that everything is raw and not sugarcoated at all. This book provides a great inspiration as Kristen is living proof that if you are honest with yourself, you can conquer anything no matter how difficult. There were several parts of the book I made notes on because of the descriptions of emotion and some great quotes thrown in there. I felt as if I could visualize everything happening as it happened and this book kept my attention the entire time. I am so blessed that I stumbled upon this book because I truly feel it will help my healing process some more.

Title: Personal and Inspirational
Review: I am glad my kids are old enough to fend for themselves because I couldn't pull myself out of Kristen's personal story of tragedy and transformation! I read this inspiring memoir in one day.......loved the very personal and candid writing style. Kristen lets us get close (much closer than any hug would allow) by sharing her deepest thoughts and feelings. I am encouraged and inspired (maybe even challenged) to be better. A better wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, co-worker, citizen etc. Thanks for a great day in the recliner, out on the deck and on the couch:)

Title: Make you laugh and cry!
Review: "The Best Worst Thing" will make you laugh and cry! Kristen shows very raw emotions in her writing the story of grieving after her husbands sudden death, leaving her alone to care for their 9 month old baby girl. She gives a colorful story of their life, love and her regret. Feelings that many people have after someone in their life dies, but she puts that out there for the reader to relate to. You can't put this book down, as you want to know how Kristen and their daughter turn out after this tragedy. She is an inspiration to all to make the best of a worst thing!

Review: The author's story is indeed tragic. Her book is written in chapters that seem to have been written at very different times and the information is repeated over and over. Editing might make the story worth reading.

Title: Couldn't put it down
Review: I am really not much of a reader, mostly due to lack of time and I find myself losing interest in a book shortly after I start it. That was NOT the case with The Best Worst Thing by Kristen K. Brown. The raw emotion was beautiful to dive into and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. Kristen is an inspiration, and amazing role model not only to her beautiful daughter but to anyone with a heartbeat.
