I’m just trying to get through this week alive.

I didn’t ask to organize this wedding. And I certainly didn’t ask for the world’s worst best man as an assistant.

But my brother is marrying the love of his life, and I’ll stop at nothing to give him a perfect wedding day–and get our family’s Inn some much-needed publicity in the process.

Which means playing nice with James Weston.

My brother’s best friend and I have been feuding for as long as I can remember. We don’t like each other, plain and simple.

Or is it?

Is it possible that James isn’t the monster I’ve always thought him to be? And why does he keep showing up to save me right when I need him? (Not that I’d EVER admit it).

Falling for James is not on my carefully color-coordinated agenda.

Too bad nothing seems to go according to plan when James Weston is around…

The Next Worst Thing is a sweet romcom with all the swoony kisses and chemistry, but no explicit content. Enjoy ridiculous mishaps, a hilarious cast of quirky small-town characters, and a heartwarming HEA that’s sure to give you all the feels.

Title: Worth it💙 I mean, James 😍
Review: Romance level: kissing 🔥.“It’s an old English rhyme, meant to ward off the Evil Eye.” “Like Sauron from Lord of the Rings?”🧝🏻‍♂️I have no idea why I haven't read Sara's books before!!! And I'm so glad I did! This book is awesome! 😍 By far my favorite from the series! I loved the brother's best friend trope. James' entrance into the book was perfect!I love how clumsy Ivy is! despite her tendency to achieve perfection, she was so clumsy!James & Ivy were a sight to behold. I love the bickering & the tension between them!Their story goes way back to high school and it takes a while to find out what actually made them "enemies". But I love to see their "distaste" for one another.I love how he is so protective of her. The banter is the best!. I love when he called her "Brooks" 😍. I love their games and competitions 😍👊🏻I love how he took care of her🥺 I loved James, was just so precious 💕. I love how they communicate! every time he asked her to talk to him👌🏻😍I loved Luke. He was just so precious! I loved how he handled the situation. He's such a good brother and friend. I hated Eleonor, she's just a horrible human being. You know what I loved about this book? The realness of it. There's small misunderstandings, but they calmed down, thought things through and went to talk about it. Even if you could see their walls go frustratingly up again, it developed so well! I love the apology💋I loved James, I loved his lovely gesture & that final chapter was everything. It got me so excited for Luke's story🥺 he deserves the world🌎. He's coming next!My favorite scenes:📷The scene w/ Fran👊🏻😍💡🎟️The date😍🔥👗The dress😍🔥Kissing (For research purposes)⚠️TW: loss of family members; trauma

Title: Sweet Story
Review: This sweet, enemies to lovers story had strong family connections (Ivy and her brother Luke’s relationship was so heartwarming), supportive friends who would drop anything to help each other, cute and funny moments, and a slow burn that was oh so satisfying. James was Mirror Valley’s hero and totally misunderstood by Ivy. Her mind was closed on the subject of James Weston, but as he slowly pulls back his layers for her, she starts to see him for who he really is and gets to know him for the man he’s become. And the way he so patiently cares for Ivy and is there for her when she needs him most, is so beautiful. The only thing I couldn’t get on board with was the reason why they were still enemies. I thought it was a little childish, but I get that things can seem so much worse when that dramatic/sensitive thing happened in you were teenagers. But that did not get in the way of a really sweet and enjoyable story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Title: The man of Ivy's dreams was her nemesis since high school.
Review: Ivy is a stressed out, over thinking woman that puts way too much pressure on herself. She has anxiety attacks. Ivy's grandparents owned a hotel. Her parents worked there as well. When her parents are killed in a freak accident leaving her & her older brother Luke to be raised by their grandparents. They grow up with most of their lives happening around the hotel. When Luke decides he's going to marry his high school sweetheart he asks his sister to plan it at the hotel. Ivy already spends too much time there. Her grandparents decided to retire. Leaving Ivy to manage the hotel. Luke doesn't want to help. Things are odd from the start when the bride doesn't care about a lot of the details of the wedding. She cares about the flowers, colors, dresses, cake, & photos of the wedding. The weirdest part is that the bride spends more time on her bachelorette party plans than the wedding. Luke & the brides friends are the only ones that like her. She treats Luke horribly. He does whatever she asks. This story is really about Ivy & James (her brother's best friend) her nemesis. In high school Ivy misinterpreted something James did to protect her. And she decided to sabotage Jame's dates. And the battle was on. They argue like cats & dogs. What they didn't know is the whole town could see through them to the real issue. James & Ivy liked each other however, James couldn't ask his best friend's little sister out. Luke would be furious. James settled for protecting her from guys that would want to hurt her. James has a British accent which helped him get a lot of ladies. Plus he was gorgeous.Big question; why in the world did James never tell anyone his company was planning on tearing down the hotel? That would have stopped the grandparents from even thinking of selling it! He could have told Luke, Ivy, or their grandparents before Tuesday. I would have kept telling those 4 people until someone understood!

Title: Great Read
Review: This is the first book I’ve picked up in a very long time. After reading many summaries i landed on this book, and I’m so happy i did. It was a great read! I love how easy it flows and how the different chapters are in different points of view. The story line kept you wanting to pick it back up for more.

Title: Enemies Indeed
Review: James and Ivy spent years teasing, arguing, and embarrassing each other. Then there were years where they didn't see each other at all. Now they're tossed together for her brother's wedding, and they've promised to get along. Of course their relationship takes front and center, but there are other relationships just as important to the story, and they don't all work out. I love the small town feel, the importance of family and best friends, and how honest communication is key to so much. Wonderfully sweet and funny story!

Title: Loved the characters!
Review: Lots of chemistry but it also had a very “real” feel about the way 2 people actually start to hit it off.Only criticism was the event in her past at the skatepark didn’t really seem like that big a deal also the hotel buy out drama was a little too predictable.I had several laugh out loud moments which doesn’t happen too often when I read. The town and characters had a lot of charm.Running off to read the next one!

Review: Ivy Brooks is all set on planning her brother's wedding at the Inn her family owns. But what she doesn't expect is for her brother's best friend and her childhood nemesis James Weston to arrive back in town to step into the best man shoes. On top of that they have to spend all their time together since the entire responsibility of planning the wedding has fallen on Ivy's shoulders and James has decided to help her. I loved the homey vibes that the small town setting in this book gave out and I also loved the side characters especially Daisy (Ivy's bff) and Luke (Ivy's brother). Most of the brother's best friend romance books I've read have the kind of brother who gets too dam annoying and controlling when he finds out about the main characters being together but I'm glad that Luke was so chill here! It was a refreshing surprise which made me love the book even more. James & Ivy's chemistry gave me butterflies and their banter was so funny and entertaining! I wish I could've been able to read more about their dynamics back in highschool because the way they made it sound like they were constantly poking each other, seemed so much fun lol. But the progression of their relationship was so natural and everything just smoothly fell into place. If you're into a light-hearted, drama free small town romance with the childhood enemies to lovers and brother's best friend/bestfriend's sister trope, then this is the right pick for you!
