Title: Good stories
Review: These are some of the best short sci-fi stories I've read on a few years. I will search out other volumes.

Title: Title misleading!
Review: I expected what the title states, 35 years of the very best and got 15 years of the best instead. The title to be blunt is a BIG LIE! Very disappointing.

Title: Even better than expected
Review: Book was delivered a few days before the expected time and in basically new condition. Thanks!

Title: Misleading title/Too Bulky
Review: The book is heavy enough to be a doorstop. It will be uncomfortable to hold and read. Additionally, the title is misleading. The stories only go back 15 years. I thought I would get an overview of the development if the genre, going back 35 years. No such luck. Very disappointing.

Title: Sci FI
Review: A lot of Science Fiction, science fantasy, and Alternate History! Good reads, but for it to really be the best, they missed new Authors such as Charles Freedom Long, then it would ahve been the best of the best!

Title: Dozois' 3rd Anthology of Anthologies
Review: Add "The Very Best of the Best" to his two retrospective anthologies published in 2005 and 2007. "The Best of the Best" was published in 2005. That volume contains short stories from the first 20 years (1984 on). "The Best of the Best, Volume 2" was published in 2007. That volume contains longer works from the same earlier period. The three volumes, when taken together, provide a small taste of the 35 years' of Dozois incomparable annual anthologies. Very highly recommended.

Title: Very well written. Mostly depressing.
Review: Here are 38 stories picked by Gardner Dozois from his 35-year run as god-editor of science fiction. Every one is masterfully crafted--if you're a writer, study these stories to refine and expand your skills. However, I found reading more than two in a day was bad for me. Was Dozois a melancholy person? Don't know, but nearly every story is a downer, ending in either defeat or in a tiny scrap of success among general doom. If you're prone to depression, pace yourself with these. This is a great collection if you seek well-written stories with lesbian protagonists. Sexuality is rarely the center of these stories, but about half the main characters are women who happen to love other women.

Title: Just like the title says.
Review: You can't go wrong with Gardner Dozois, and you won't go wrong with this book. One satisfying story after another.

Title:
Review: I knew I’d be in safe hands with Gardner Dozois, but I didn’t really expect the extraordinarily high quality of all these stories and writers. From the very first one, which I found so fresh and entertaining, to the last one, a horror story of a form I had never read before. A wonderful collection that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the best of the best of science fiction.

Title:
Review: This collection conveys an idea that Science Fiction has become synonymous with overwritten stuff solely driven by political agenda. The selection of padded pieces with endless dialogues and social commentaries made the process of reading a real drag. There was no humour and hardly anything happened in the stories. Even the few readable pieces were maudlin. However, almost all of these works sought to 'make a point' somehow. With so many pointy pieces without any real edge, this collection turns out to be a porcupine rather than an anthology.Editorial work was shabby. In place of 'Mongoose', 'Boojum' has been included.Overall, not recommended.

Review: I have been reading these yearly anthologies since the beginning, despite often finding it hard to get my hands on them in the UK. This is a good mix of stories from across the years, only criticism is it probably could have been bigger, it's roughly about the same size as the yearly collections, and this is covering the best stories from 3 decades.
