In December 1941, the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor plunges the United States into war. Fresh from the hardscrabble mountains of Appalachia, Deacon Cole joins the fight against Imperial Japan. In his first test against the enemy, he will use all his skill with a rifle against a deadly Japanese marksman. Across the beaches and jungles, they take part in the savage battle for control of a Pacific island. Can he protect his squad, or will they fall, one by one, under the enemy’s crosshairs?

Title: Pacific sniper
Review: Mr. Healy writes well researched books and makes it a nice easy flow. It was nice getting introduced to all the characters in the book. Can't wait to read more of this series.

Title: Started slow but got better
Review: Enjoyable reading but was slow to start but then the action picked up and the main characters became more interesting and added to the story line.

Title: good reading
Review: Greatest book ever written about the second world war, especially in the pacific theater. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in reading about the war in the Pacific.

Title: Good story.
Review: Like the Cage Cole series, the stories are very good. But also like the Cage Cole series, Mr Healey needs to brush up on his knowledge of the weapons he describes. Neither the 1903 Springfield nor the Arisaka was a single shot rifle. The Arisaka certainly didn't have a short barrel. It had a barrel which was slightly over 31 inches, compared to the Springfield's 24-inch barrel. To the average reader, these are probably small mistakes, but when it comes to small arms, I admit to being kind of a nitpicker.

Title: Well written story about America's bravest men
Review: My Dad was a Marine who served on Iwo Jima, so for me this Sniper series held a lot of pride Few people today understand just what these men went through. Many of them died even before they made it to the beach. I pray that God Almighty has a special reward for these fine men in Heaven.

Title: Not as good as Cage Cole series
Review: the first nine books by David Healy so I read the 3 book Pacific Sniper series. I was very disappointed. Although the story line is good there is way to much dialog in these there books. I also found it hard to believe these books are rated 4.5 overall. Really!

Title: Good book!
Review: Well written story about a sniper on Guam. Characters are interesting and an enjoyable group. Having lived on Guam and visited areas mentioned made it an even better read. The Japanese who hid out on the island are well known but there were also several Americans who hid out after the Japanese invasion. The last survivor, George Tweed, was rescued in 1944.

Review: Healey has a gift for creating strong visual images with great clarity. The reader is drawn into the scene with ease. This is the third of his numerous works that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed.

Review: This is the second book i bought in the series. Well written, but with the same little defects as the first one.I understand you want the bad guy to have a special rifle, but do yr research. The good guys, again are pretty cliché.The dirtpoor Southern hunter, the big hayseed, the loudmouthed cityslicker, etc. Nevertheless, I will continue to buy the next book as it's well written.
