Tiny Footprint Coffee, the world’s first carbon negative coffee. Through a unique collaboration between Roastery 7 and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation, one an Artisan coffee roastery and the other a nonprofit conservation organization, the two teamed up to create the ultimate combination of good karma. So, how is our coffee carbon negative you might ask? It’s simple, really. It takes 4 lbs. of CO2 to produce and distribute 1 lb. of our coffee. For every pound that’s sold, we donate a portion of the proceeds to fund reforestation in Ecuador’s Mindo cloud forest. Over time, these trees will remove 54 lbs. of CO2 from the atmosphere. You see? More CO2 removed than emitted.

Our reforestation efforts along the Northwestern Andes of Ecuador help to plant native tree species throughout the Mindo Cloud Forest region in heavily deforested areas. These trees not only sequester massive amounts of carbon from the air, but also provide habitat to hundreds of local bird species, reinforce soil conservation techniques, and rebuild water tables. The Mindo Cloudforest Foundation works directly with local landowners to provide jobs related to the care and redevelopment of the cloud forest.

Making coffee great takes time, effort and passion. At Tiny Footprint Coffee, we pour endless hours into sourcing the finest, sustainably-grown Arabica coffee beans from around the world. Beans that are not only shade-grown, but also organic certified, and most often fair-trade or Rain Forest Alliance certified. We also purchase coffee from small, family-owned farms that are not fair-trade eligible, yet grow some of the most beautiful, best tasting coffees on the planet. We do all of the roasting and training from our roastery in Minneapolis, MN where we’re working hard to make the entire roastery carbon negative – from fully bio-degradable coffee bags, high-efficiency lighting and fuel-efficient ribbon burners on our roaster, to composting coffee grounds and reducing waste around the shop.

Title: The Best cold brew coffee
Review: This is our house choice for cold brew beans. The flavor is complex and well-balanced with chocolate notes when brewed for 16-18 hours. Experiment with your brew time to get the exact flavor profile you are seeking. We have been ordering for about a year now and find the quality, roast, and freshness to be consistent. Be aware that these beans do produce quite a bit of papery husk when ground which can be a bit messy. Even so, this is still our favorite coffee hands-down and is worth a bit of cleanup. The true measure of a coffee’s worth is how you feel when you must drink something else. This coffee has ruined me for travel—nothing else even tastes like coffee anymore, cold brew or not. No matter how awesome the trip, I am always thankful to get back home to my Tiny Footprint cold brew. Give this one a try—it is truly unmatched and could become your new house brew of choice.

Title: Great Coldbrew
Review: We recently bought a Toddy cold brew system to save a little money and give us more versatility in our caffeine. I've experimented with a few different brands, most of which advertise their beans for cold brewing. I've found that this brand is just as good as many other supposedly more artisanal brands like Coffee Bros, but at a fraction of the price (for reference, 12oz of Coffee Bros Cold Brew whole bean is ~$15 which would cost ~$100 for the same volume as what Tiny Footprint Coffee offers for ~$35).The flavor of this coffee is great! It has the "classic" cold brew taste and texture. Ultra smooth and mellow, with a dark, creamy chocolateyness and an undertone of berries with a pinch of brown sugar. Personally I prefer to mix my concentrate in a 1:3.5-4 ratio, so the flavor is perfect for me. I did try mixing this brand in a 1:3 ratio and it was too strong flavor wise; the berry undertones were too strong and sweet for me.

Title: Fantastic for Cold Brew!
Review: I use this primarily for cold brew coffee, and it's fantastic! Here's a really simple recipe for cold brew coffee:1. Add 2/3 cup of ground coffee beans to a French press2. Add 3 cups of room temperature water (filtered water is best)3. Lightly stir the grinds - a chopstick or small spoon works well4. Place the French press plunger on top, but DON'T press the plunger down yet5. Let the coffee sit at room temperature for 12-24 hours6. Press down on the plunger and push all the grounds to the bottom7. Pour out your liquid gold and enjoyBe sure to store any cold brew in a separate container in the refrigerator, as it's not ideal to store it in the french press with old grounds. Pro tip: The coffee grounds are great to put in a small bowl to "de-funk" your fridge. Just leave them in there uncovered for a day or two, and your fridge will be smelling great.Overall, this coffee has a great flavor when cold brewed - not bitter, but rather chocolatey with some nice complex notes. It's also great knowing that this company has a "negative footprint" when it comes to obtaining this coffee, and thousands of trees are planted as a result. Organic, great tasting coffee without harm to the environment. I'd say that's a win.Great product; highly recommended. 5 stars.

Title: Delicious, Smooth tasting Cold Brew
Review: I'm not a coffee afficionado but I do enjoy it from time to time.I'm currently cutting back on the number of sodas I have a day to see if I can cut them out for good but I still needed caffeine for the headaches.Enter in cold brewed coffee. I tried it with my regular ground coffee from the grocery store but it was just eh. It was kind of bitter and needed lots of cream to enjoy. So I googled, I searched and read and read. I stumbled upon an article that led me to this coffee right here. And I am SO glad I found it.The negative carbon footprint was a selling point but when I got the package in from Amazon and I could smell the grounds through the box - I knew I found it. I cleaned out my cold brew maker and put some of this in there and let it sit for 15 hours in my fridge. What came out was a beautiful elixir; smooth and extremely good tasting. Like I said, I'm not a coffee drinker but this may have converted me.I added non dairy creamer and some coconut milk whipped cream to the top and it was so dang good. I no longer need to spend $6 on a coffee at coffee shops.

Title: Green yes, good coffee? meh
Review: Cold brew is not new to me. I've been brewing and experimenting with different coffees for over two years. The basic recipe that I start with is 64 oz filtered water and 2 cups of coffee, typically a medium-fine grind like what you would use for a drip machine. With 64 oz of water, I lose about 20oz ish to absorption of water into the grounds. At the end, I have between 48oz and 55oz of drinkable coffee. The coffee is poured into a Yeti with ice and about 4 oz of milk. Thats it.. each time. So when I compare coffees, it's always the same when I start. After much experimentation, I settled on Sumatra as my "Go to" coffee. It's strong and a bit aggressive with nice chocolate overtones and virtually no acid. Everything I taste is rated from this baseline. This coffee is a very coarse grind and pretty light in color, unlike Sumantra which is almost black. This leads to something that looks more like dark tea than coffee. Its also more acid after 24 hours than the Sumatra. I keep looking for floral notes like Blue Bottle which is light roast but too delicate for me but they are not there. I could play with the ratios but even at the basic level, I don't think coffee is as good as claimed. The story is great and I love going my money to someone like this vs a large corporation but life is too short for poor tasting coffee. I short I went back to Sumantra or Murdered Out coffee from Black Rifle Company
