What Are The Specialty Accessories For?

Every DIY murphy bed kit requires you to 'edge band' plywood, but the others don't provide the tools to do it. We included the trimmer so you don't need to spend $25 to buy one! We also included a Countersink Drill Bit Set and a Forstner Bit.

Is The Wood Included In the Murphy Bed Kit?

No. Plywood and some standard supplies such as screws, glue, and cabinet pulls are not included. For the Vertical Queen cabinet enclosure & bed frame, you will need Four (4) 3/4" thick sheets & Two (2) 1/4" thick sheets.

Does a Murphy Wall Bed Require a Special Mattress?

No, however it must fit within certain specifications noted in the listing. A standard queen mattress between 50-85lbs and no more than 12" thick.

What DIY Woodworking Skill Level Is Required To Build This DIY Murphy Bed?

Somewhere between Beginner to Intermediate. We don't recommend this be your first ever DIY project, but the detailed step by step instructions make it easy.

Title: Wonderful Instructions and an amazing company
Review: The instructions with timestamped QR codes on each page to a YouTube video demonstrating the step in detail sets this DIY Murphy Bed company apart from others.I had a small issue with one of my pistons and I contacted the owner at 9:30pm on a Friday holiday weekend and he replied within minutes and he resolved the issue for me. Needless to say the customer service aspect of my experience was beyond any expectation I had.I built the bed with my brother over the course of two days. You will want help. It is quite a heavy piece when assembled. Following the instructions precisely will get you a fully functional, beautiful Murphy Bed.I would say that your woodworking experience should be at least some experience carefully measuring and rolling down full sheets of plywood, or as the guide suggests have the place you buy your wood from help with that...but you MUST have precise cuts and measurements so doing it yourself may be best.I will be recommending this company and product to all of my family and friends who see a need for a Murphy bed. Thank you for making this DIY project so much easier than expected!

Review: Quality hardware. It seemed too complicated at first but the directions are clear and it steps you through the process. Put the whole thing together myself in a day including picking up materials and cutting. The stickers included to label the cut pieces were a nice addition and helped to stay organized and assemble quickly.

Title: Absolutely best buy and customer service!
Review: The quality of the product is hands down the best out there and the customer service is through the roof! We were having issues putting the pistons on the bed we had made on Memorial Day. I reached out to the company via Facebook Messenger thinking I would get a message back the next business day, which would have been good. NOPE...the owner messaged me back within 20 minutes and helped us out. When a part broke he put in the time and made sure we had replacements within a few days! He didn't have to go above and beyond but he did! Would highly recommend this company to everyone!

Title: Not as DIY as described.
Review: This kit is marketed as a home DIY friendly build, but in my opinion, not for a complete beginner or some one who has done little to no wood working skills. Even for two people who have a lot of experience with working with tools this was not as DIY friendly as it is marketed.Firstly, the total cost of materials including the kit was more than we had originally planned for; about $500, not including the tools we already had (Miter saw, power drill, table saw). The shopping list part of the instructions was clear and concise, but after getting the wood cut down to the right dimensions we had quite a bit of leftover lumber. This was useful when we had to redo 1-2 cuts, but overall it seems a bit inefficient. Which brings me to my next point, the building instructions.Part of the instructions had fully drilled and partially drilled holes, but due to the convoluted directions we made a mistake and had to recut some of the wood. Another section did not explain how to install the hydraulics correctly, they were extremely stiff and eventually learned that the bed must be closed to install them but is not notated properly.Overall, it took us about 3 days to put the bed together. It would have been faster if we did not have to make the majority of the cuts ourselves. The video in the product description says his local hardware store (Home Depot) had them cut the lumber down for him but that was not our experience as they don't do project cuts.In the end, we are happy with the end result but if we were to build another murphy bed it will not be from this company.
