Title: Love the Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes for Baking
Review: Yes, these make for yummy instant mashed potatoes because the ingredient is 100% potato. But I use it for baking and it's fabulous! Makes baked goods really tender without adding a lot of unwanted ingredients or flavor. Very neutral which is what you want for baking.

Review: Versatile food.  Resealable bag.  Easy to make.  Quick.  Quality. Good taste. Ingredients are just potato flakes. I wish they were organic, but at least they are non-GMO.  For more flavor I sometimes like to use different broths instead of water to make this (like organic mushroom broth). Tastes great. - Sometimes I have my local health food store order them for me because the 1lb. bag is only $4.19 there. (Can't beat that price!) -  I also sometimes make vegan "cheesy" mashed potatoes with these. Tastes AMAZING!!! [All you do for that is to make the potatoes according to the directions (boil a Cup of water, stir in 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 Cup potato flakes), but instead of boiling just water alone, you add a big scoop (maybe about 1/3 Cup or so, or to taste) of "vegan cheddar sauce" in with the water and boil it (keep stirring so it dissolves and mixes evenly). The "vegan cheddar sauce" I used is an adaptation of Serene Allison's recipe from "Rejuvenate Your Life".  [RECIPE:  1/2 large red bell pepper,  1/4 Cup water,  1 Cup cashews,  1 Tablespoon tahini,  2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast,  1&1/2 teaspoons (fine) Celtic sea salt,  2 teaspoons onion powder,  1 clove garlic,  2 Tablespoons lemon juice.  Blend on high until completely mixed and smooth. (Keep this stored sealed in the fridge.) Note: For best results use raw & organic ingredients. ] Enjoy!!!

Title: They have no additives
Review: These are good flavored but do smell funny to me in the package. Thatâs probably because they donât use any additives or preservatives. Pure classic potato flakes. That makes their flavor a bit plain but these are great for thickening anything with making it too potato like. Great in a clam chowder or even added to salmon patties to replace part of the breadcrumbs. Fine as mashed potatoes but need seasoning (which potatoes generally do anyway). The price point in bulk is better than buying one bag. It seems like a lot in this purchase so I will have to put these in airtight containers (in their original bags) and watch the dates. When I open a bag I donât care for the closure so I put it in a jar or the original bag in a plastic ziplock bag. If you want no additives and easy to fix with decent flavor, this is a good choice.
