Title: Working on yourself let’s you show up better for others.
Review: High school sweethearts trying to make it past the 10 year mark. Both my husband and I are working the book independently. There are very deep topics but everything is laid out so user friendly, almost mapped out, for you. It makes the promts easy to follow and understand. The readings flow really well. We like how it simplifies therapy in an at home approach. With this book you get to do the work! Even on days I feel like I can’t emotionally handle an exercise, there are still so many helpful readings to get me thinking. (The paper is also very soft and nice to write on!)

Title: A great work book for those trying to break out of toxic relationship cycles
Review: My therapist recommended this book to me and as usual she doesn't disappoint. I've been lucky enough to inherit some pretty awful communication and relationship patterns from my parents. I have BPD, I'm autistic, and struggle with other comorbid conditions. Communication is NOT easy for me. Months after reading this book cover to cover I still revert back to it for helpful reminders of things I am working on.What I love about it:The sections of the book are broken down into easily digestible categories for the most common hot topics in relationships. Each category has examples of situations that issue comes up in, examples of bad behaviors that draw out the problems and examples of what to do differently. Each category has work book style prompts that encourage the reader, or the couple, to look deeply inward and break these patternsChanges are difficult but not impossible and some of us weren't modeled the right way to be, so we need clear cut examples. I'd recommend this book to anybody who is interested in changing their relationships for the better.

Review: Bahaha I think we fought more with this activity book, he didn't take our marriage seriously and shortly after discovering the unknown thoughts he had we got a divorce.

Title: Easy Read, Lots of Activities
Review: What I liked is that it doesn't require your partner/spouse to participate you can do the exercises on your own and still get a benefit from the book. There are a lot of exercises in this book so be prepared to work a bit, if you are up to it! I can't say how effective it is, as it is likely too soon for it to have impacted my relationship, but I will certainly keep you updated! WML

Title: Might have saved my relationship
Review: My partner and I were going through a rough patch. We took a weekend with no phones no computers no tv, nothing. We rented an Airbnb 3 hours from our house and we worked through this book for 2 days. we spent hours going through it doing the activities, listening, and really hearing each other. We made a lot of realizations and left the weekend feeling ready to be in our relationship forever. I am grateful this book exists. I highly recommend the observation-perception-emotion chapter. We now use that in conversation at least once a day. Some of the activities make you feel silly but I encourage you to do all of them anyways.

Review: Most of the exercises lack precise explanation. It left us with questions every time we tried to do them and we felt discouraged.I read a comment just now where a social worker said that it was probably not good for someone without a clinical/therapeutic background and I would’ve love to read this comment before buying the book because I really feel like it’s true. This book would be a great addition when doing the work with a psychologist or couple therapist.
