Title: Beautiful pictures
Review: All recipes do not have pictures. I just received. I bought a used copy. It looks good, in great condition.I can eat any kind of food but I do not want to live that student life anymore. I bought this to learn to make proper traditional soups that don’t taste like grass-and-water and could be served to people.I am using my instant blender to do these. There’s new kinds that I haven’t heard of. And it’s sectioned season wise. The soups look smooth.

Title: I haven’t cooked these yet, but….
Review: This book has so many great recipes that I’ve bookmarked. The information on how to make stocks and other how to information is invaluable. My only complaint is there are too many fish soup recipes. Of course it’s my personal dislike of fish, not the recipes.

Title: Informational with great recipes
Review: I am a huge soup lover and this is the perfect book for me. I could eat soup every day, in every season, and that's what makes this one so nice: It breaks down soup recipes season by season. That means that whatever vegetables or meat is in season, the book will cover it. For example, since tomatoes are a spring crop, all tomato-based soups are in the summer section.I really like this book! I've started putting sticky note tabs on the recipes I've tried, slowly working my way through.

Title: I like this book! Don’t review if you haven’t purchased it
Review: I was really curious about the reviewer who gave this book a 2 star rating without even buying it - so I bought it. It’s very well put together and there are plenty of nice photographs. I’m not sure if an index is that important since the table of contents break up the soups into seasons and pretty clearly explains what the soup is....I wish people wouldn’t give bad reviews to things they haven’t purchased. It’s really unfair to the writer/ manufacturer. I like this book.Further update- this is a great book! Just tried a couple recipes. Under each ingredient- like “carrot” etc are several soups. Like I said earlier- a lot of beautiful pictures to boot.

Review: This is an excellent book of soups. It has a lot of classics but it has even more things that are a little exotic. Things that I’ve had in a lot of restaurants but have never made myself. Others are ones I’ve never tried before! The recipes are all well described for what the final product should taste like and what it goes well with for meal planning. The book is thick and quite attractive. There are pictures for about 6 recipes and I don’t think that there has to be a pic for every single recipe. The photos are lovely and a lot of work was put into this book!People who say, ‘you can find these recipes online’, are kind of missing the purpose of a recipe book. They’re nice to have and to look through and to keep on a shelf for handy reference that you can go back to again and again. This is the sort of book that has so much exploring to be done! Some recipes you’ll have to go shopping for, others you can make out if your fridge. It’s a perfect soup starter cookbook.
