What does the center green light mean?

In certain models, the center LED will turn green to indicate the exact center of the stud.

What does the single blinking light mean?

Several of our models now have a low battery indicator. When the battery voltage is low, the second LED from the right will flash. Replace with two brand new batteries.

Why do the LED lights flash when I first press the button?

In certain models, the LED lights will flash when you first press the button to assure you that the unit is on and receiving power.

What batteries can I use?

Not all of our models are compatible with rechargeable batteries. For best results, use two brand new, non-rechargeable, AA or AAA batteries (check instructions for details).

What materials do your stud finders detect through?

Sheetrock/Drywall

Our stud finders work best through a single layer of sheetrock/drywall.

Lath and Plaster

While many customers have reported success using our stud finders through lath and plaster, detection is not guaranteed due to irregularities in plaster thickness.

Incompatible Surfaces

We do not recommend using our stud finders through stucco, exterior siding, double layers of sheetrock/drywall (common in condos, townhomes and home theaters), tile, wood flooring, carpet or roofing.

ACCURATE: More sensors = More accuracy.Conventional stud finders have 1 or 2 sensors. The ProSensor M150 has 9, making it the most accurate stud sensing tool on the market. The ProSensor M150 has a max detection depth of 1.5". The precision LEDs track the location of studs while displaying the center and edges simultaneously.
EASY: One mode finds it all! The ProSensor M150 adjusts for a variety of depths, materials and textures. No calibration required. Press and hold the button to begin scanning. Unlike other stud sensors that give false readings, the ProSensor M150 allows you to start scanning anywhere, even over a stud.
DISPLAYS FULL STUDS: The ProSensor M150 displays the center and edges of studs simultaneously, showing single studs, double studs, and irregular configurations that other stud finders cannot detect. Works through drywall/sheetrock and more!
DURABLE: #1 Rated by consumers and professionals, the ProSensor M150 stud finder is both accurate and durable.
EXTRA FEATURES: Live Wire Detection. Uses common AAA batteries. Is NOT compatible with rechargeable batteries.

Title: Pretty cool!
Review: I’ve had quite a few stud sensors throughout the years and used many others but, none with the screen like this one has. It seems pretty reliable and I’d have to be virtually blind and deaf to not figure this one out. It’s easy to use and works right out of the box. I’m quite happy with it. Just a heads up, I thought I’d done my homework but, I didn’t notice I could’ve gotten one of these with a level on it and I do wish I had.

Title: Very accurate and easy to read
Review: This is so much better than a single light. It shows the whole mass of solid material by light up many lights. Even shows energized wires. Such a big improvement over the single light indicator. Price is very reasonable.

Title: Works as Expected
Review: Seems to be pretty reliable and way better than using older methods. The electricity detection can be off at times but the stud lines are usually accurate. The only thing it doesn’t like is if used on older panel walls like older houses have. New houses that have sheet rock works good for this product.

Title: nice upgrade vs standard stud finders
Review: I'm finishing up building myself a 2200sf house. Solo. Good tools are my only helpers. My old stud finder died and I ordered a cheap but highly-rated Chinese replacement here on Amazon. Completely useless. So I decided to throw down for this not so cheap but highly-rated model. I wish I had bought one of these years ago. It's awesome.I love that there's no startup/calibration time; as soon as you pinch the button it's working. That may only save 5 or so minutes of time over a day of installing baseboards etc, but the other finder I was using gave me the same awful feeling as waiting in stop-and-go traffic, despite the calibration time only being maybe 3 seconds before each scan. The wide field of indicators is a brilliant design and really gives you confidence that the stud is where you're about to drill. The only downside to this device is I find it has a hard time locating studs at wall corners, either inside or outside. This isn't a huge deal at wall edges like doorways because you can pretty safely assume there's a stud there, but I was surprised by this issue. Yesterday it was failing to see several 4x6 LVL posts at a door opening, covered with only one layer of standard sheetrock, which is bizarre given LVL's density. Perhaps metal drywall edge at corners throws off the sensors, IDK. Regardless, this is still the best stud finder I've used.

Title: Accurate and easy to use
Review: Accurate at locating the center of the stud, and identifying electrical wires. A must have unless you just love to poke a million holes in the wall to find the place where you can drill/hang something.

Title: Easy to operate
Review: I bought this to replace a stud finder I've had for almost 20 years and it's much easier to operate and understand. It works very well and an excellent value. I would recommend it.

Review: I've used a ton of stud finders over the course of 50+ years, beginning with a little device that used a magnet to find the nail heads. This Franklin device is terrific. Small, easy to use, easy to read, and accurate. I've thrown away all my old Zircon and Craftsman-like sensors. This one is simply WAY better than those.
