Review: Amazing knife sharpener. Easy to use. Just start on the left side and pull your blade toward you 3-4 times through each slot. Even my dullest knife was slicing through paper after one sharpening. This is a great knife sharpener that fits right in my knife drawer.

Review: I've used various knife sharpeners over the years with mixed results. I find that some sharpeners require the knife to be held at a certain angle for precise sharpening. If you stray from a given angle, you may find yourself going back and forth trying to achieve a nicely honed edge. I find this to be the case with the "Shark" knife sharpener that I was using.I was quite surprised to find this sharpener reduces the risk of that happening as you simply hold the knife straight up in the slots and pull the knife back with a slight pressure, 3 or 4 times and that's it!I used it to sharpen 2 of my Kuraidori knives and it sharpened them better than I expected. I decided to see if I could revive an old paring knife that hasn't had an edge on it for years and was pretty much relegated for use as a butter knife. I was of course skeptical, but much to my pleasant surprise, this sharpener brought it back to life with a nice sharp edge.What worked best for me was pulling the knife blade backwards from tail to tip, 3 or 4 times in each slot starting from slot #2, then #3 and then #4.Using this method allowed me to put a nice sharp edge on my set of kitchen knives that I use daily when I'm cooking.The unit itself is sturdy and the rubberized base prevents the sharpener from moving while holding it in place during the sharpening process. You may notice some fine metal shavings afterwards, especially with older, worn out knives. I take that to indicate that the sharpening process is working. Just be sure to thoroughly rinse off and very carefully wipe down the knife blade when you're done sharpening. This is where the included set of cut-resistant gloves may come in handy, (no pun intended).I have no complaints with this efficient and capable little sharpener and again, quite surprised, yet very satisfied with the results especially at such a reasonable price.
