“Welcome to the family,” Nina Winchester says as I shake her elegant, manicured hand. I smile politely, gazing around the marble hallway. Working here is my last chance to start fresh. I can pretend to be whoever I like. But I’ll soon learn that the Winchesters’ secrets are far more dangerous than my own....
Every day I clean the Winchesters’ beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor.
I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband, Andrew, seems more broken every day. But as I look into Andrew’s handsome brown eyes, so full of pain, it’s hard not to imagine what it would be like to live Nina’s life. The walk-in closet, the fancy car, the perfect husband.
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late.
But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am.
They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Title: MUST READ
Review: Started this on the plane and could not put it down. Itâs truly been forever since I have read a book that I was completely into. I use to be a huge book lover but, itâs been a while since I read something that could keep my attention. This book was shocking, entertaining and incredibly well written. I canât wait to read the next 2 and for the movie to come out.

Title: Great Book
Review: I liked this book. It is probably one of the better thrillers/mysteries I've read recently, and I did finish it quite fast. The writing style is extremely readable, but don't expect imagery and beautiful language -- this book is very plot-based from start to finish. In the middle, some aspects got a bit repetitive but I guess we needed to have some understanding of Nina, Andrew, and Millie. The book itself also veers off into a bit of romance towards the middle, if you're into that sort of thing this would be a great read, but if not it may get a bit boring. The twists, however, are quite strong. We get a few clues, although I would say that in this book they're actually less subtle than the second one. Definitely didn't expect the ending. For anyone planning on going into this book, you need to know that it's a thriller first, everything else second. The character development is mediocre, especially with Millie (imho), which is why I don't think I could give it any more than 5 stars. Overall, solid, I understand the hype and it's worth the read.**spoilers**I didn't really understand all that was going on with Nina's daughter, Cecelia. The whole idea of her being allergic to peanut butter and overall being a brat didn't work that well plotwise, unless she was just meant to be an annoying character all around. I know in Nina's pov she talked about Cecelia always having to be perfect for Andrew, still there was some confusion I had while reading. If someone could clear that up for me that'd be great.

Title: DIDNâT PUT DOWN.
Review: I knew this would be great leading into a film adaptation, but it was a spark I needed to start reading again. Super simple reading with great twists, nothing I felt too overwhelmed with plot wise. A perfect amount of suspense to keep me reading. Highly recommend to get out of a dry spell of reading!

Title: Suspenseful and twisted
Review: Well written and kept you guessing till the end. Very much a feminist story that embodies the idea that women need each other to get rid of monsters. I loved that the author wrote multiple points of view it helped make the story and the plot so much clearer.

Title: Excuse me?? What?? Nina needs to explain some things.
Review: This was the best introduction to Freida McFadden. I was hooked!Millie Calloway is en ex-con living out of her car in need of a job. Nina Winchester is a rich house wife with a secret. Her husband, Andy Winchester, also has a secret.Nina hires Millie to be her housemaid, but she has an ulterior motive. Millie soon realizes that her new boss is psychotic and feels bad for Andy. Millie and Andy form a bond that drives Nina even crazier and things turn sour. This books is a true thriller! You get to read Millieâs and Ninaâs perspectives which gives you a well rounded story. I was utterly shocked when I got to read Ninaâs perspective. I felt like I was missing something until her section of the book. I definitely did not expect Ninaâs ulterior motives or the ending of this book! If you love thrillers then I highly recommend this book.

Title: Fantastic book!
Review: This is a great book! A good suspenseful mystery with a fantastic heroine ending. The last 1/3 of the book I could not set down and finished in 4-5 hours. Absolutely love fiction like this. I started this series with the 3rd book (got at airport) and had to get the first and second books. I will definitely be getting more from this author!

Review: This was my first novel I had read by Freida. It was an easy read, without too much detail on characters I find in many books.Fairly short chapters, with the story moving along at a good pace. The kind of story that you cannot wait to see what happens next. Very enjoyable. Can't wait to read more books by Freida McFadden.
