RECIPES FOR BUSY PEOPLE WHO LOVE GOOD FOOD

With three little boys less than two years apart and a packed schedule as an online creator, Caroline Chambers often doesn’t feel like cooking. Can you relate? When you just can’t motivate yourself in the kitchen, this is the simple cookbook you should reach for.

Inspired by Caro’s wildly popular Substack newsletter of the same name, What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking is brimming with efficient recipes that take the guesswork out of dinner—in fact, each one is a complete meal: protein, veg, starch, done! The recipes are organized by the amount of time they take to cook, so whether you have 15 minutes to throw together Peanutty Pork and Brussels or a little bit longer to simmer Turkey Bolognese with Sneaky Veggies, dinnertime is totally doable. On top of that, Caro gives you more ways to choose, so you can search by protein (Chicken thighs waiting in the fridge? Make White Chicken Chili. Nothing but beans in the pantry? Cannellini Caprese with Burrata is it!) or mood (Tomato Farrotto is perfect for a cozy craving, and Crunchy Honey Harissa Fish Tacos are an excellent way to show off). Most importantly, these recipes include Caro’s famously extensive swaps, riffs, tips, shortcuts, and more to be sure they work best for you, helping you save money, improvise, and even learn a thing or two. They don’t compromise quality or flavor—and they deliver every time. With as few ingredients, steps, and, of course, dirty dishes as possible, dinner awaits!

Perfect for beginners and those seeking easy cookbooks for simple meals, What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking is the ultimate "I don't want to cook" cookbook. With its focus on efficient, flavorful recipes and minimal ingredients, this easy dinner cookbook appeals to time-constrained parents, working professionals, and anyone who craves delicious homemade meals without the fuss. Readers seeking uncomplicated cookbooks for beginners will appreciate Caroline Chambers' approachable style, clever shortcuts, and flexible recipe options, making this book a go-to resource for satisfying meals on even the most exhausting days.

Title: Jam packed with delicious goodness
Review: Caroline (Caro)’s cookbook is already a staple in our house and it’s been less than 24 hours since the book had found my loving arms. True to form with the OG Substack, Caro’s recipes are easy to follow, efficient, and absolutely delicious. This book is filled to the gills with great tips, full page photos, and quirky anecdotes. Her book is welcoming and inclusive in the same way her Substack newsletter, podcast, and Instagram feed make you feel like a part of something greater. Caro’s recipes ensure that cooking is accessible to anyone and she is very connected to her people/community. Do not wait to add this book to your kitchen, it is a must have and it will make even the biggest skeptic enjoy cooking, especially when they don’t feel like cooking.

Title: Recipes as easy and tasty as the book is beautiful ❤️
Review: As a long time follower and recipe subscriber, I couldn't wait for this book to arrive! The book is stunning and so thoughtfully curated. I love that it is organized by time to cook/prepare meals. Recipes can be searched by protein, occasion, and ingredient. There are lots of tips and tricks, as well as ideas for making various swaps for ingredients in case you don't have an item on hand, or simply want some options. And one of my favorite details is that ingredients are bolded within the recipe steps, often also including amount - so not just in the ingredient list, but within the recipe as well. This ingenious detail makes the recipes that much easier to follow. I've already cooked a few recipes and have been so pleased with everything so far.Try the Baked Tomato Butter Pasta - so easy and tasty! You won't regret it!!Five star cook book!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Title: Caro Is On a Roll!!!
Review: So proud to be a WTC groupie for 4 years now. This book is the perfect culmination of what makes Caroline stand out as a recipe developer - she truly means it when she says she’s creating recipes that are flavorful, require minimal ingredients/time/cleanup, and easy to follow. She is also a true expert in making cooking easy and approachable with all of her pro-tips, ingredient substitutions (for literally every single one!!!), and recommendations for varying palettes (picky kids, spice, flavor profile, etc.)Everything we make of hers is a SMASH with friends and family of all ages, and genuinely helps us expand our cooking and tastebud horizons. I’m thrilled to advocate for this hardworking gal-pal and her latest venture, the long-awaited WTC book!! Make sure to try the Hella Green pasta and cheddar turkey burgers, and don’t forget you can soften butter by putting it in your pants 😊

Title: Game changer
Review: A book full of recipes my family wants to eat and I actually want to cook. The recipes are for FULL meals. I didn’t realize what a mental load picking sides etc. is until that mental load was gone!Everything in here is also efficient in terms of time, technique, and ingredients. It’s clear that a lot of thought is put into teasing out maximum flavor without making you dirty any unnecessary dishes or buying any ingredients that aren’t pulling their weight.I am a huge fan of the One Pan al Pastor Enchiladas (crazy easy, crazy delicious). The Hella Green Pasta and Turkey Bolognese with Sneaky Vegetables got my toddler to eat more veggies than he ever eats and gave me some extra leftover sauce for freezing. On deck for tonight is the One Skillet Chicken and Gingery Rice with Coconut Curry Sauce - the sauce is made separately and drizzled on top which is perfect because I can easily leave it off my son’s portion if he isn’t feeling too adventurous.

Title: An absolute YES. Buy now
Review: This is likely the best cookbook I’ve ever owned. The way it’s organized by time, ideas for how to substitute items and recipes that feel special but are overall approachable to make for a home cook. I always say I’m a decent cook but I’m not a creative cook. I can follow a recipe and execute but never know how to put a spin on things. This does that for me! I’ve been a long time subscriber to her substack (which is also worth a follow if you don’t already) but I love having everything in one hard copy place to refer to (as a millennial who likes to print recipes rather than keep looking on my phone) everything about this book is chefs kiss. The content to the design and layout. Click the buy now button and join the Caro cult. You won’t regret it.
