Title: Everyone needs this
Review: It has just about every drink recipe you can think of. Another plus is that it is large enough to stand up on its on if you put it on your bar cart. Would recommend.

Title: Index not useful
Review: The book is informative and filled with great recipes and other info. The only thing I don't like is the index because, for the most part, it is by ingredient instead of drink name.

Title: More pages than I thought!
Review: Pleasantly surprised to see that this book is actually much bigger, with more pages than I thought! Granted, I didn't look at the measurements before purchasing since I knew I wanted it either way. It's much thicker than other cocktail books that I have and that's a good thing! Nice cover, nice quality overall, and really some lovely stories throughout. If you enjoy learning about the history of cocktails, hearing about how different parts of the country (and world) enjoy their cocktails, and reading archival material of the New York Times, then this book is for you! I haven't yet had the chance to go through the book in it's entirety, but I plan to sit down with it (possibly with a dirty martini or a crisp Sancerre) and read all the fascinating stories and articles it includes. Overall, much more than a simple cocktail book!

Title: Beautiful & Useful!
Review: Bought this to display on shelving at the wine bar but was pleasantly surprised with how useful the book is as well. Not your average cocktail book as it goes behind just basic recipes.

Review: Not impressed with this book, its so overrated! It can be hard to find the recipes you are looking for as the way they decided to order things in the index is not great. They ordered and indexed mostly by type of alcohol! So if you want to find a recipe for a basil smash, you cant search basil smash but need to know its a gin based drink and then flick through the chapter for that kidn of alcoholic beverage until you find it. But wait, there is not even a chapter for gin based drinks. Ridiculous! Some basic classic cocktails you may expect to be in such a book are just not in there but they chose some unusual variant or not even that.Very little information on technique, tools etc. This book is annoyingly dumb, maybe its a nice gift to someone you dislike
