Title: Not quite what I expected but still a great book
Review: This book has LOTS of pages but this is not an inspiration book of good designs. This is an information book of the trends in web design with quite some text but also examples. I expected a slimmer book with only big photos of great designs. But this is not a bad book. Still includes lots and lots of photos of good designs and organised by trends.

Title: Nuanced, less visual punch than previous editions
Review: I've enjoyed and used the previous three installments of this series. My impression of volume four was that it was a more nuanced collection of sites. Rather than flipping through the book and finding great ideas leaping off the page, as I found with the previous books, this one was a more studied and subtle collection. Without spending time reading the descriptions and carefully reviewing the sample sites, much of the graphic punch was a little lost in this installment.

Review: This book is garbage. Bought along with the mobile designer's idea book. Book is poorly designed. The display of the sites is tiny and the selections look like a poorly curated sampling of dribbble or other creative inspiration sites out there. Will be returning.

Review: As has been the case with the previous 3 volumes, a great tool for any web designer. I bring them to initial meetings so that clients can quickly (though taking longer with every volume) choose styles and examples that they like. I do find that there is less variation in the examples as compared to previous volumes, but I think that it is less the fault of the book, and more an accurate portrayal of the current state of web design.
