This Defender Security doorknob lock-out device is designed to be mounted directly over the entry doorknob to prevent access to the keyhole only, effectively preventing unauthorized access by key. The durable, diecast cylinder is held in place with a removable O-ring for cleaning the cylinder when the lock-out device is unlocked and open. The cylinder cannot be removed when the device is closed and locked. This lock-out device is often used in evictions, rentals, home sales, on job sites, in-home, on in-office storage room knobs to keep other keyholders out, even if they have a key to the door. It is a quicker and easier solution than replacing the entire knob and lock system on a door while still getting the protection you need. The maximum outside diameter of a round knob that can be secured with this device is 2-7/16 inch.
DOORKNOB LOCK-OUT DEVICE – The Defender Security doorknob lock-out device can be placed directly over the entry doorknob to block access to the keyhole. Note: Measure your door's handle diameter to ensure it will fit inside the lock-out device.

Title: The Perfect Solution
Review: We have very high end, custom door knobs, but needed to put a lock on a bedroom door. We agonized over how to do this without replacing the door knob or putting an unsightly lock on the beautiful, high-end door. This locking device is the perfect solution for round knobs. It's an ingenius device, which makes it impossible to open the door when it's on. There was no mounting and it locks/unlocks in seconds. We were thrilled to find such an inexpensive, simple solution.

Title: heavy metal and sturdy
Review: I gave this a 4 because the locking mechanism comes out easily , but you can just pop it back in, in an unlocked position and once it's in a locked position it can't come out because of the bar that crosses on the inside of this thick heavy metal. I think the problem is the plastic washer that goes around the mechanism deteriorates very easily , which allows the locking mechanism to come out when it's in an unlocked position.Overall , I have bought a bunch of these for different purposes. The thick metal bar that crosses the inside , when in a locked position , and the thick heavy metal of this outer frame will keep anyone from taking this thing off easily , if at all without a key. Also it's so close to the door itself that it will be awkward to try to get off with out a key!...great for 'roommate' circumstances , or in my case a mother with dementia ( to keep her out of rooms with important papers, etc. !!!

Review: I have been using this product for a few years now. My husband has Alzheimer’s and had gotten out of the house and was walking down the road. I was in a panic!!!This is when I ordered this product for my exterior doors. It has not failed to keep him from getting out. It has kept a big worry from my mind and well worth my investment. If you want to keep little ones or older ones from getting outside without your knowledge please consider purchasing this door knob lock.

Review: These knobs are perfect to keep my husband with dementia from getting out of home while I am here or away for an errand. The only issue is you can easily pinch yourself while putting them on the door. They are quite heavy and close easily. Just be aware of your fingers!!! Beyond that, very happy with these.
