Title: Great product
Review: I originally bought one remote for my momâs bedroom tv because our old one had smaller and darker buttons that she couldnât see really well. She loved it so much I bought a second one for the living room. She loves the large button size and the light up feature. Itâs much easier to use for someone who has vision problems. Great product!

Title: Almost the best lighted remote for Me!
Review: This remote lights up beautifully for use in a dim or dark room. You can easily select the the color of light you wish and for remote functions it works fine on my TCL Roku TV, although it will not allow you to use the numbers on the remote and that's a Roku problem. My 58" Samsung and a 40" Sony in a guest room work perfectly and It also works perfectly on my Roku 2022 streaming express but that's where the problem comes in it will not work on the latest Roku streaming stick 4K or the 2020 Ultra and I blame it on Roku for not keeping their remotes standard. I'm selling my Roku 4k stick because the Express is just as fast if not faster and I'm changing my starts to 5 since the problem with the Roku 4K stick and Ultra is a Roku problem.

Title: Works with Roku Express Stick (but not with Roku+ Stick)...
Review: Nicely designed in terms of form factor. I bought the black model that allows you to choose backlight colors. I had a lot of frustration trying to program my Roku+ Stick (this is one of the "better" ones in the product line with built in volume controls), but none of the codes worked. Before I decided to pack in in and return it, I combed through the Amazon Q&A section and found people saying that it seems to work with the Roku Express stick. This was interesting because the official feedback from the company was incorrect - they state that the remote only works with full-on Roku TVs, not the stick products. Seeing this info from that astute Amazon customer, I grabbed the Roku Express Stick from a different TV and swapped it out in the room and television where I wanted the GE Universal Remote to work. It worked just liked it should - I got it working in one shot, the first code "took" and I was in business. / None of this would have been necessary if Roku had better designed products with backlighting built in. In a darkened bedroom at night, it's hard to see your controls. / The moral of this story is that the GE Universal remote works exactly as I had hoped. It control both TV and Streaming device (plus other stuff like DVD players), all in one simple, backlit remote. I'm beyond happy with the quality and price.

Title: Quick and Easy Set-Up; Mediocre DVD control
Review: I was very pleased and impressed with how quickly the remote connected to both my (10+ year-old Vizio) TV and my (1-year-old Roku Express) streaming media player. I entered the listed codes manually, for both devices. In both cases, the first code listed worked like a charm. I'm not very techy, but after reading and following the instructions, it all went very smoothly for both devices.I love that the buttons light up, and are a good size to read. They feel just a little spongey when pressed (I prefer a more defined, firm, "click" feel for buttons), but it was manageable. When entering numeric codes that ended with 5, I had to push the 5 twice to get it to light up and connect. Not sure whether that was intended/designed, or a result of the spongey-ness.I also have a (5-year-old Samsung) DVD player whose remote had been corroded over time. I purchased what I thought was the replacement remote for the model/serial number, but it didn't work. It's possible my DVD player is old enough that dedicated remotes are no longer available. That was my initial reason for trying this universal remote. I hoped the universal remote would control all the same functions as the old, included DVD remote. This universal remote does power my DVD player on and off, and it does open and close the DVD drawer. But I couldn't get it to show the DVD menu (for options like subtitles or special film features). I manually entered every code listed for a Samsung DVD player, and some of those codes did work to power on/off, and open/close the drawer. I then cycled through the instructions to let the remote seek and find its own codes, with the same result. I tested a few different DVDs, but never could get as far as playing the movie, so I couldn't test pause, fast forward, or rewind functions (I saw only the opening FBI warning screen and producer logo screens). Maybe my DVD player is just finally dying, and no remote can help.On closer inspection, I realized that this universal remote's description and instructions indicate only that it will power on/off and open/close DVD players; there is nothing that says it can access DVD menus or control playback. It's possible a newer DVD player might accept more codes or connect with more DVD functions. So overall, this is a really great remote for at least TVs and Streaming; it may work very well with newer, fancier DVD players and other components as well. The instructions are clear, and set-up was fully complete within 30-60 seconds for 2/3 of my devices.

Review: Bought GE 40081 so we could control TV, volume, Roku (Telstra TV) etc from one remote. Works with Telstra TV out of the box and only took a couple of minutes to program for our TV and Bluray/Home theatre system. Has a comprehensive list of codes included for hundreds of devices. The backlight is also great and fast delivery from US ððð

Review: My mother-in-law always loses her remotes and when she sold us a TV it of course didn't have a remote so we had been forced to use the buttons on the tv, though now they started to stop working. It is an older Toshiba tv (which had a lot of codes to go through so i opted for the auto search function it also has) so I wasn't even sure if this remote would work with it, but I had to try, and thankfully it worked great. It took a few tries cause the tv hated to be turned on with its own buttons on the side, so the remote timed out a couple times, but eventually I got it connected and now can make sure he turns the tv down at night or else I will take the remote back and do it myself each night. XD
