Double bill of British comedies directed by John Madden and starring Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel and Maggie Smith. 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' (2011) follows the experiences of a group of elderly Brits who arrive to take up residence in a newly-opened retirement home in Bangalore, India. Despite its glossy publicity campaign, the Marigold turns out to be rather different from the refurbished luxury hotel advertised in the brochures. However, the move soon begins to pay off as the hotel - and the residents - reveal some unexpected charms. Following on from their exploits, 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' (2015) sees Muriel (Smith) as the now fully-fledged manager of the hotel owned by Sonny Kapoor (Patel) with Evelyn (Dench) and new-found companion Douglas (Nighy) helping to run the day-to-day business. When Sonny realises that he has only one room left in his ever-popular hotel, he decides to dream bigger than ever and open the Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The cast also includes Richard Gere, Tamsin Greig and Celia Imrie.

Title: Beware of this unscrupulous seller!
Review: This seller shipped me a DVD that cannot be played on a DVD player in the US and then sent me some ridiculous alternatives about how I could either use the DVD or return it, including:- do a google search for a conversion code and convert my DVD player to one that could play DVDs in other formats;- watch the DVD on my computer (what computers even come with DVD drives anymore!?)They also offered me the opportunity to return it ... at my own expense ... which would probably be more than the cost of the item in the first place.A vendor in the US should not be selling DVDs to customers in the US that cannot be played on a DVD player programmed to play DVDs in the US.I strongly encourage you to find another seller from whom to purchase your DVDs!

Review: I love the original and the Second best is wonderful. How in the world can you go wrong with Judy Dench and Maggie Smith in the same film. And toss in a silver headed Richard Gere, fabulous music - It is wonderful and yummy!

Title: check your region, whatever that means
Review: I didn't like the Region 2 code, which I didn't pay attention to when ordering the movies. I checked my blu ray on line and it advised me that it was region free, I opened the package and inserted the disc to find out that they (it) didn't work. I'm in the process of returning the disc in hopes of receiving a credit. I'm so sorry and disappointed; I really wanted these movies.
