Title: Great addition to my cookbook collection
Review: I have an extensive collection of cookbooks. I do use them for cooking... sometimes.... but I am just as likely to grab a cookbook and a cup of tea and just sit and read. So for me, the best cookbooks combine dependable recipes with interesting and highly readable prose. This cookbook fits that bill perfectly. Mr Sloan has created a lovely melange of recipes, history, factoids, and cooking tips. The book is a great read, and I look forward to trying many of the scrumptious sounding recipes!

Title: Such a Deliciously Fun Cookbook
Review: What a brilliantly written and fun cookbook!! The history of the key lime pie is fascinating, and I love the quotes and facts that appear at the bottom of many of the pages. The author's knowledge, creativity, and love of pie-making is quite evident in the cleaver way he arranges the recipes into four categories of crusts, fillings, sauces and toppings, allowing the reader to experiment and create his or her own favorite and unique key lime pie. I can't wait to get in the kitchen and get started!

Review: This is indeed the ultimate Key Lime pie cookbook, but it is also sold as "The Key West Key Lime Pie Cookbook" by the same author with the exact same content. Don't get snookered (as I was) into buying both books thinking they were different.

Title: Fun book that demystified my fear of baking
Review: I like to cook. I really like to eat. But for some reason, I have steered away from baking(unless it came in a box or frozen plastic tube). Having lived in Key West for close to 20 years, I have to admit that I felt a tad ashamed of the fact that I had never made a Key Lime Pie...and had no idea where to begin if I wanted to do so. And then this book made its way into my hands. Fun, interesting, easy to read. And most important of all, the recipes looked SUPER easy to make, and did not require a ton of baking tools to buy (pie pan was all I really needed and I bought a 3 pack of cheapy aluminum pans and they worked just fine). My girlfriend and I made the classic filling recipe and we both tried out a separate, easy to make crust. Mine was much better, but hers was almost as good. The thing I like the most is that from start to finish we both had our pies assembled and in the fridge chilling within 15 minutes of starting our project. It was really easy and required no baking skills whatsoever. Within 30 minutes of chilling them in the fridge, we were sampling our creations(but a nights rest in the fridge really took them to the next level). The finished results were better than most versions I have tried in restaurants. We plan to branch out and try some other types of hybrid crusts next time. I plan to invest in a real pie pan. And now I can officially call myself a Key Wester.

Title: I recommend
Review: Great book, easy enough to follow that my seven year old can do much of the preparation himself. I love the tips and history sections as well. Plenty of ideas on how to change things up with different crusts and fillings. Most importantly, my pies are delicious. I recommend this to any Key Lime pie fan.

Title: Great cookbook and more...
Review: I received this cookbook as a gift last week from my daughter and her boyfriend who live in Key West. Somewhat ironic since I am not known for my baking ability! I love it...the recipes are quick and simple... the quotes are entertaining and the history information make it more than a cookbook. First crust I am trying is the Thin Mint Cookie Crust...yummy....off to the kitchen...now where is that room again????
