Review: This is, in fact, my second additional purchase through Amazon of a Sourdough Starter kit, and my FIRST from ZUNMIAL. Truth be told I own four Sourdough Jars, each from a different manufacturer, and THIS ONE is the most satisfying to date. What sets Zunmial apart immediately, is the quality of the kit.Especially, the breathable, fabric jar cover. OUTSTANDING design, materials, and construction, are evident right out of the box. Of the four manufactured jar kits I own, the first had a cloth cover that was poorly made, and only lasted a couple of months. Two others used barely enough fabric and elastic gathered so tightly to fit the top of the jar, that getting a proper fit is a chore in itself.Gladly, ZUNMIAL understands that securing a cloth cover into place should NOT be a complicated task because a manufacturer is so predisposed in costs, materials, and quality of components, customers are left to wrestle an ill-fitting cloth cover in place.The material is woven from heavier gauge fibers, which outclass so many other kits with higher asking prices.The silicone jar spatula is very well made and very consistent quality among other competitors. The glass jar is a heavier grade, durable, and made for years of reliability. The temperature sticker exhibits a solid reliance for adhesive properties, is easily legible. and quite accurate.The elastic fabric day/time/level feeding indicator is easy to understand, and very useful. The metal lid also secures quickly and conveniently.I paid twice as much for the Sourdough Starter Kit I ordered previous to this, but hands down, the ZUNMIAL Sourdough Starter Kit offers GREAT Quality, Value, and Reliability whether for home use, traveling, or as a gift.The ONLY I believe that could make this kit better, would be a longer spatula. Depending on the consistency of your sourdough starter, the size of your hands (I am a male with hands that don't always cooperate with me), you may find yourself needing a bit more leverage to more easily stir ingredients together.Great Product!!!

Title: handy but a bit too small
Review: I've just started making sourdough bread a few weeks ago. I was given a 50G starter from a friend and the first few 'feedings' went great. However, once I kept a starter of more than 100G, the starter would burst over the edges! It probably grows by almost triple about four hours after feeding and then comes back down but holy moly, when it triples, watch out! It blasted over. I had the screw on lid, and it pretty much blew it up and squished out between the lid and top of the jar. I now use a Large peanut butter jar and that seems to work better for the larger starters. (I still overdo it on occasion). Additionally, I put the temperature strip on, but I don't see how it gives a temperature or even the need for it.

Review: I've been making sourdough for about 6 months now, and this Sourdough Starter Kit has been a great addition to my sourdough routine. The jar is incredibly easy to use for feeding my starter, the cloth cover is perfect for fermentation days instead if using plastic wrap. The aluminum lid seals tightly for when I store starter my in the fridge. The included spatula is great for stirring, and the tracking band works way better than a rubber band to track your starter growth. I recommend this kit for weekly sourdough bakers.
