How to paint with Edible Art Metallic Decorative Paint by Sweet Sticks Before you start: Tip 1. Shake the bottle well to ensure the solid and liquid ingredients mix together to form an even consistency to paint with. You can also open the bottle and stir the mixture with the end of your paint brush before shaking. Shake the bottle each time before using the paint, including between sessions. If your paint is transparent, the ingredients haven’t mixed together Tip 2. Play with your paints, become familiar with them. Each color has different pigmentation, so get a feel for each color. Edible surfaces are all different, so also paint on different painting surfaces; the metallic paints can be applied to fondant, crusted buttercream cakes (chilled), sugar cookies, marshmallows, confectionery, ganache, modeling chocolate, macarons and fruits. Do not use these metallic paints on Italian or Swiss meringue buttercream as these surfaces keep the paints from air-drying and leave them in liquid form. Tip 3. These Metallic Paints prefer wide, flat brushes with soft bristlesTip 4. Have hot soapy water and paper towels on hand. When done with one color, wash your brush gently and dry at once with a paper towel; you can also wash the brush with dishwashing liquid in your hand, then rinse with hot water How to paint:Tip 1. Don’t load your brush with too much paint — it’s easier to build up the color than take it away. If another coat is needed (depending on your desired color), wait for the first coat to dry; thick coats of paint will take much longer to dry. Tip 2. This paint is designed to be used straight from the bottle. You can add a drop of 95-percent high-grade alcohol to thin the paint when needed.

Drying the paints: Tip 1. Wait 24 hours for these paints to air-dry; conditions like temperature and higher humidity can affect the drying process tremendously, so please allow time for this too; a fan can be used to speed the drying process; if paints aren’t air dried correctly, you may be left with a bitter taste; please note what these paints can paint on before you begin; Tip 2. When using these paints on Buttercream, allow time for drying before placing the cake back in the fridge

Title: The edible gold Iâve been looking for!!!
Review: I always loved the look of the TMP gold, but wanted one that was completely edible. This is seriously the best edible gold I have ever tried, and Iâve tried a ton! I did 2 coats on roughly 4 dozen cookies and still have more than half the bottle left. I tasted a cookie when it was still a little wet, the taste of the gold wasnât great. BUT once they dried completely, I couldnât taste anything but the cookie and icing. It did seem a little pricy for the size of the bottle, but overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Title: Doesn't dry fast AT ALL
Review: I decided to try this product simply bc it had a faster shipping date than the poppy paint (which is what I normally use and absolutely love.) I needed this right away and had heard great thing. This product runs, it absolutely doesn't not dry fast at all so if you're in a pinch and need something quick this isn't the product to use. It smells as well and has a bitter taste that I didn't like. Not worth the price.Save yourself the Hassel and just buy poppy paint.

Title: Perfect Gold Color
Review: I got the glamorous gold and it was the perfect color for my princess crowns! It was easy to work with and did not alter the taste at all. Two tipsâ¦1. Do not use white and then try to paint. It will not look good. I used yellow icing and it worked perfectly! 2. Make sure your icing is completely dry before painting on. I messed up one cookie and dented the icing because it wasnât dry yet.

Title: Itâs okay, does what I need it to
Review: I got the black paint and it does what I need it to.Pros:Easy to work withDries completely and does not come offHas a smell at first but goes away once dryCleans up easyCons:Takes house (I typically wait over night) to dryNot super coveringIf you put too much on, it does give off a flavorTips:If you need it to dry quicker you can always dust some corn starch on it to hurry up the process.I used mine on chocolate for cake pops. If you mess up you can sort of wipe it off and restart, but be careful because I can leave a residue behind that you might have to paint over.I typically take a paper towel and wipe the chocolate off first to kind of buff the surface. Otherwise the paint will kind of bead up.

Title: Good coloring but
Review: I liked the gold color of the product. I feel like most cookies only required one coat. I did give less stars because of taste. Once completely dried there is a small aftertaste. It may have been more noticeable to me because I accidentally tried some when it was still partially wet. It was horrible when not dried completely. I also noticed that the paint would ball a little or have pebble like texture. I am not sure why that happened. It didnât happen every time but sometimes.

Title: Painted on buttercream better than expected!
Review: First time using shiny metallic gold ready-to-use edible paint. Brushed on crusted buttercream better than I expected. I didnât taste it but my husband said it didnât taste very well when painting the bottom part of the cake cookie. So recommend only using small amounts. Liked that it was already mixed and to the consistency I needed. Painted onto frozen frosting using a stencil. While it looked okay, I think it would have worked better to thicken with some powdered sugar maybe then paint over stencil and scrape off. Thick enough that it did not fall off brush and become messy.

Review: Used this for a novelty cake and was pleased how intense the colour is. It needed 2 coats but the results were great. Just remember to give the bottle a good shake before using.
