Title: Unique recipes with great results, but not for beginners!
Review: Itâs a small book with limited recipes and the instructions arenât always clear (donât recommend for a beginner), but every recipe weâve tried so far has been a 10/10! Ironically, the basic Beginnerâs Sourdough Bread recipe was the trickiest loaf and weâve made filled loaves before. The Focaccia Di Recco was incredible, so unique (though I recommend adding prosciutto on top as well for some extra flavor). The Manchego Spelt Crackers were challenging but delicious (definitely recommend making these even thinner than youâd think to get a good crunch/snap on your cracker, otherwise they are very biscuit-like). The Cream Cheese Biscuits are so fluffy and flaky (definitely recommend baking until very golden otherwise the center is doughy). The Zucchini Bread is so moist and the walnuts add a nice texture. The Mixed Berry Galette is my favorite recipe in this book, though we used extra black berries and raspberries instead of blueberries, and we did get quite a bit of filling leakage before and during baking (make sure to dry the berries after rinsing and/or strain out extra liquid before adding filling to the crust), also instead of cookie crumbs I added some ground almonds with sugar at the bottom of the crust and it turned out great. Most of these recipes took longer to bake than the recipe suggested, even though usually our gas oven runs pretty hot and things cook faster. Still, the flavors and ratios of ingredients are all spot on.

Title: Sourdough starter for beginners
Review: This is such a great little purchase for the beginning of the sourdough starter journey. Great recipes, tips, and instructions. A friend had one and I had to buy one so I could stop bugging her to borrow hers! Great gift idea for the baker in your life

Title: Great gift
Review: I bought this gift for Motherâs Day and she loved it. Lots of great recipes and they all look super yummy! The only problem I had was with delivery. My package got left out in the rain and the book got water logged and was unusable but a replacement was sent and I got it just in time for the date I needed it.

Title: Exactly what I was looking for
Review: I am just learning about sourdough baking and was super excited when I received this cookbook. It has a wide range of recipes for bread, crackers, desserts and much more. Step by step instructions with measurements in grams, ounces, cups, tablespoons so you can get an idea how much you are using. Beautiful color illustrations and explicit instructions on how to do everything from start to finish. The book looks exactly as described and is sturdy enough that it will hold up for years and years. I highly recommend this book.

Title: Great for inspiration, recipes are spotty
Review: I think this is a great book for inspiration, but I have had hit and miss luck with most of the recipes in here. First, most of the time you need to change the hydration level of your starter before you can even make a recipe. This means you are tacking on an extra 4-6 hours from you standard active starter. Next, the flour to liquid measurements seem off. I have not had a recipe yet where I haven't had to add more flour to be able to handle the dough (plus this is already changing the hydration level per directions). I have adjusted the recipes based on time, flour quantity, and even skipped the "active sourdough starter" steps to obtain success. This is a not a book for a beginner in my mind, you have to have a grasp on bread making and a good knowledge of your starter. Otherwise, I think you will end up frustrated and defeated. Again, great for inspiration, but prepare yourself and go with your gut when trying these recipes.

Title: EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR BEGINNING AND EXPERIENCED BAKERS ALIKE!!
Review: I recently started baking with sourdough (I made my own starter) & during my research, I found that I do NOT have to throw away the starter discarded when feeding my starter. This book by Hannah Dela Cruz contains many recipes that utilize the starter discard. I have made the Butterscotch Fudge Brownies which are absolutely delicious. Using the sourdough starter, I made her Pina Colada Upside Down Cake (a version of a pineapple upside-down cake). It was moist & tasted great & looked just like the picture in the book. Hannah's recipes are easy to follow & the directions are VERY simple and complete. Anyone who is a beginner with just a little baking experience & knowledge should be successful in following these recipes.. She even tells how to store left overs & how long they can be stored although the baked goods are SO TASTY, that I have never had them last long enough to worry about storage. The book has many pictures (in color) included which are quite helpful. I would highly recommend this book to anyone experienced or not in baking with sourdough. In fact, I would rate this book a 10 (TEN) if I could.

Review: I follow this writer on Instagram and am not disappointed by this book. It is a very basic way to create a sourdough starter with minimum waste. I have tried many other times but have not been happy or successful with the results. I am at the end of creating my sourdough starter and am not disappointed. The book also has a lot of recipes to use up the sourdough discard rather then throw it out, all the recipes look easily interchangeable as well. I haven't made her breads yet as my starter is still culturing but I look forward to it.

Review: The recipes and photos are great. I've tried a few of them.I find myself calculating the bread recipes to the larger loaves I'm used to in Elaine Boddy books in order to feed my family of 6. I also tend to follow E.B.'s methods as they are simpler and easier and use less starter, which is handy when doubling recipes. In spite of making these changes due to necessity and convenience, the recipes turned out great and the family loved the loaves.I also loved exploring the other fantastic ways one can use sourdough, and reading this book made me more comfortable with the idea of branching out on my own to create my own recipes. I highly recommend it to seasoned sourdough makers. The instructions are clear for beginners, but as stated, I found it a more complicated process than need be...
