Title: A classic, for good reason.
Review: I use a Keurig coffee maker for the brew quality, but I don't always like having to go across the house to make a cup every time I want one, so I've used all kinds of big travel containers and thermoses over the years. Eventually I decided to ditch the mediocre travel containers and get an actual time-tested Stanley vacuum container. In retrospect, it was a good call.Anyone who's walked through the camping section of a Walmart will doubtlessly recognize this vacuum flask. It's been around seemingly forever (apparently since 1913.) It's a classic, and for good reason. It gets the job done, it does it very well, and it even looks good, bringing to mind the nostalgia of childhood camping trips. This container says it can keep hot drinks hot for 24 hours, and iced drinks cold for 120 hours. I haven't tested this only because I haven't felt the need to. It works better than any of the other travel containers or vacuum flasks I've owned over the past ten years. Your mileage will vary if you use it like I do and are constantly taking the top off throughout the day because opening the container does allow some heat to escape, but that's an inescapable reality of any drink container. The upper-most metal cap is actually a cup, and the containers actual topâor sealâis beneath that cup. The seal itself is a big, thick plug that screws into the mouth of the container. It's made from a hard, quality plastic with a flexible gasket to retain heat and prevent leaks, and it does both very well. I can't imagine this container leaking unless that plug piece actually broke somehow. The container is just barely too big for my car's cup holder so I lay it on my passenger seat on its side, and I've never seen so much as a single drip. The handle feels sturdy and I trust it. I like the way the it folds in and sort of snaps in place against the container to take up less room and prevent jangling around when you don't need to use the handle.I rated this container 5/5 stars for every section, even the "easy to clean" section. Cleaning does require a long "bottle brush" of some sort to clean thoroughly, but that should come as no surprise and these bottle brushes are cheap and easy to find, and they make cleaning exactly as easy as you'd imagine because there are no weird angles or edges inside the container, just a smooth taper that's very easy to scrub. All in all, this Stanley container was a great purchase. It does exactly what you expect it to do without any letdowns. It's built very well and to high quality standards, and is very affordable. You really can't go wrong with this one.

Title: Almost as good as ever...
Review: I want to believe they've learned to make as good or even a better thermos out of lighter/better steel, but you can feel the weight difference between this and my 30 year old Stanley bottle immediately. They still keep coffee/water hot for days, so long as you perform the hot water pre-rinse. I just hope they'll hold up to the beating I put into my last one.

Title: the green Hammertone paint has a smoother/ more fine finish which I don't like as much
Review: When received, thought that it was JUNK (please read entire review for explanation).I've been using a Stanley Classic 1.1qt thermos since 2004 to keep my coffee hot as I take it with me to work. I decided to purchase a second one even though my original one still works and looks very close to brand new. Soon as I received the new thermos I noticed that it felt too light. I am already accustomed to the weight of my current Stanley thermos (2003 built date) and decided to put them on my scale. Sure enough, the original that I've been using for 14 years weighed 2.70 pounds and the new one only weighed 1.80 pounds. The new one also has a more hollow sound when I knock on it, the green Hammertone paint has a smoother/ more fine finish which I don't like as much, and when I place a magnet on the exterior of the original Stanley thermos, it holds in place. When I place the same magnet on the new one, it kind of catches but it slides down. No holding power.I never even considered when placing the order that something as simple as a Stanley Classic Thermos, that's been around for ages, would get changes that seemed to cheapen or even ruin it.Thinking that the lighter weight, smoother finish, hollow sound, and the fact that my small test magnet doesn't hold well and slides down, I decided to see how much worse it performs. At 7:30am I filled both the original thermos and the new thermos with boiling water and placed them in my truck, side by side. Then, at 1:30pm, I brought them both into my office and placed them on the same desk. The office is only 75 degrees fahrenheit and by 4:00pm, the exterior of the original thermos felt slightly warm while the new thermos' exterior felt slightly chilled. I didn't measure the temperatures of the exteriors but the new unit felt clearly colder to the touch.By 4:30pm, I decided to open them both up, for the first time in day, and get a reading of how much worse the new unit kept the temperate of the boiling water placed into it compared to the original unit. The results were as follows:-Original Stanley Classic 1.1qt thermos: 183 degrees F.-New Stanley Classic 1.1qt thermos: 188 degrees F.No, that is NOT a typo. I was so shocked that I kept measuring both units over and over for 5 minutes straight. All day, I was expecting the new design to perform worse than the original. I would have been very surprised had it even held the temperature as well as the original but I never even considered that it would actually keep the temperature better than the original. No joke, that never even crossed my mind for a second.I'm very surprised that the new unit performs so well despite all the changes mentioned above and it will now become my main go to thermos and I'll keep the original, that I'm kinda attached to after all these years, as a back up.Note: I know that this review is silly in the big scheme of things and that the testing process wasn't even challenging but I was expecting a quick and clear proof that the new design is terrible and would only use it as the back up thermos. I was so surprised, and pleased, by the results that I decided to share them with you all.

Review: We got this Stanley Thermos for camping in the fall. It keeps your soup hot for a good day when temperatures are hovering just above zero. It's nice to get back to camp and have a thermos full of hot soup to warm yourself up with. It's good quality with a nice handle. The outside hasn't worn with all the use. You can't go wrong with this thermos.
