The PerfecTemp for Every Occasion Equipped with 1500 watts of power for fast heating, this electric kettle brings up to 1-2/3 liters of water to a rolling boil in a matter of minutes. Better than that, it offers six different preset heat settings, which allows for steeping tea at just the right temperature depending on the variety. Using the simple one-touch controls on the kettle's handle, select 160 degrees F for delicate teas, 175 degrees F for green tea, 185 degrees F for white tea, 190 degrees F for oolong tea, 200 degrees F for French press coffee, and "Boil" for black tea or to make instant cocoa, oatmeal, noodles, and more. Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp Cordless Programmable Kettle The control panel also offers blue LED indicators, a "start" button, and a "keep warm" button, which will maintain the set temperature for 30 minutes. For added convenience, the kettle's 360-degree swivel base allows for pouring without the hassle of a power cord getting in the way, and its memory function makes it possible to remove the kettle from its base for two minutes without it shutting off or losing its place in the heating process. Other highlights include a stay-cool nonslip handle, an "open" button for lifting the lid, a blue backlit water window with measurement marks, a concealed heating element to prevent mineral buildup, a removable/washable scale filter, a dripless pour spout, and boil-dry protection with auto shutoff for safety. A user manual with recipes comes included. The kettle measures approximately 8-1/5 by 9-4/5 by 12 inches and carries a three-year limited warranty. Parts and Benefits. When returned to the base, it will restart the heating and/or Keep Warm cycles right where they left off. Keep Warm Mode Keep Warm is the kettle’s default function that automatically maintains selected temperature for 30 minutes. If you have selected the Boil preset, your unit will hold a temperature just below boiling during the Keep Warm cycle. To bring water back to a rolling boil, press the Start button twice. Keep Warm can be turned off by pressing the Keep Warm button at any time before or during the heating cycle. ; Boil-Dry Protection Your kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection. If it starts heating without enough water in the unit, the heater will automatically shut off to avoid damaging the heating element. The lights will flash and the unit will beep to alert you. Once the kettle has cooled down, lift it off the base, then replace it to reset and restart the heating cycle. The quickest way to cool down the heater is to fill the kettle with cold water; however, you can also wait for it to cool down by itself. ; Sleep Mode If the unit is not in use for 5 minutes, it will revert to sleep mode. The heater and all lights will be off, but your last selections will remain in the unit’s memory. To turn the kettle back on, simply press any button, or lift it up and then return it to the base.

Title: Beautiful, convenient, and functional!
Review: Idk how it started, but I seem to have a "thing" for kettles, and have more than I'd care to admit. As each of my kids leaves home, the first thing they'd take was one of my kettles. They use them to make coffee, tea, mashed potatoes, and ramen noodles in their dorm. I love cooking and canning, and have found so many uses for this kettle. It's nice to look at, easy to use....even in the dark, and cuts time and valuable prep space when canning. Also great at sterilizing utensils and jars. I like the weight of it....doesn't feel flimsy or will easily tip over like other kettles when the cord gets bent/twisted. The "keep warm" feature is convenient too. Bottom line, this is my new favorite kettle due to it's size and different temp settings for making various tea blends. If you're on a budget and only need it to boil water, this would be an overkill, IMO. Lots of much cheaper alternatives on here for that. However, if you find the temp and keep warm options helpful, this is a solid piece of equipment I highly recommend.

Title: Best one on the market
Review: This kettle beats all others, hands down, for longevity, ease of use, footprint, care & versatility. When I'm in a hurry and need warm or boiling water for a recipe, this is faster & more efficient than using the microwave or stove, or running water from the tap till it warms up. I can boil 2 kettles this faster than boiling it on the stove, and get more, and hotter, water for pour-over, french press for a big (20 oz) mug of instant coffee or tea faster than I can with a drip or Keurig.I love the ability to set the water temp, and the auto shut-off, as well as the Keep Warm feature, which is great when I'm cooking and need boiling water for recipes at different times, or when my morning & hubby's aren't in synch. He can heat water for his breakfast, and hit "Keep Warm" so it's ready for me when I come down to grab mine.We previously had hard water, which resulted in scale buildup in the kettle. I found that heating a bit of 2:1 vinegar:water once a week, then rinsing out, solved this easily. Once a week I wipe down the exterior, when cool, with the same wipes I use on my stainless steel appliances, and it looks fantastic. Be warned, it is a kettle, and the exterior will get very hot, and produce steam. So, only touch the handle after heating, keep out of reach of children & pets (includingvwhere they could reach & pullon the cord), and use a few inches from anything at risk of heat or steam damage - plastics, including canisters and press & stick decorative tiles/tile stickers, paper & cardboard packages, and don't set it under your cabinets while heating, as steam can cause damage & adhesive loosening, even on laminated cabinets. This is my 4th order of this model kettle. The first was killed, after 7 faithful years of use several times daily, by a whole-house power surge that occurred while it was heating, that fried several things in my house. I had the replacement for 5 years, using it 4-6x daily, replacing it with #3 after it mysteriously grew legs and found it's way to my daughter's college dorm, supporting the college caffeine + ramen needs for her and a dozen of her friends. 10 years later, they're both still getting daily use, in her home & mine, and look & function like new. I ordered this one because I thought mine had finally worn out, as I couldn't get it to turn on from any of my kitchen outlets, but it turned out to be a bad circuit breaker, nit the kettle. I decided to to return it, because when you find something this great & reliable, it's worth having a spare, just in case it's ever changed or discontinued.

Title: If You're a Tea Enthusiast, This Is the Kettle For You
Review: It's hard to talk up this kettle too much, but I'll try to be succinct and non-hyperbolic anyway. TL:DR the temp control releases fewer bitter compounds saving the flavor of many teas in a way that brewing time often can't.If you've done ANY research into brewing tea, you'll have come across the almost universally agreed upon conclusion that different teas brew best in different temperature ranges (times as well, also there can be debate on the actual best range for a given tea, but the general point still stands). So, having a kettle that can just heat water to a given temp (roughly, I'll hit that point later), rather than just boil then wait for it to cool enough, is a game changer, especially if it's reliably consistent. This is where this kettle shines. When I bought it, I heated water to the 6 different temp presets indicated and then tested it in the kettle with a thermometer right when it finished, and the results were generally within +/- 3 degrees F depending on where I stuck the probe. I consider this to be a reasonable result for a kitchen appliance (it's not lab equipment after all) and the variance is small enough that most settings don't have any overlap (the difference between the 185 and 190 setting may be a bit too fine but the averages are relatively on point). It is important to note that when you pour the water into whatever cup you're using, you can almost instantly lose 10 degrees. This can be mitigated a bit by warming up the cup, or you can just heat the water 10 degrees hotter than the recommended brewing temp of the tea for all temps below boiling. This makes such a difference! Even with relatively unrefined major grocery chain offerings of black, green, oolong and Darjeeling (I generally drink Twinings and yes, I know Darjeeling is technically classified as a black tea), I've found that proper brewing temps are far more vital than brewing times for controlling the dreaded bitterness of overbrewed tea. I find oolong, green and Darjeeling virtually undrinkable steeped in boiling water even if I only brew them for 2 minutes (I never do less than two because I don't like to just drink slightly colored water when I'm making tea). But bringing those temps down allows you to not only steep them longer to allow more flavor to come out but the lower temps release fewer of those bitter tannin compounds. Plus, with the "Keep Warm" option, you can set the kettle to heat up while you're taking a shower knowing that, whenever you eventually get out and are ready to finally pour out the water, it'll be within a few degrees of where you set it as long as there's still enough water left to keep the heating element from overheating. Now you'll have to experiment with the teas you prefer to drink as while the suggestions underneath the temp presets are a good starting point, I've diverged from a number of them based on my taste preferences. But at least with this kettle you have the option. My only mild nit-pick was with the scale screen. When installed, I found it made it difficult to pour all of the water out of the kettle so a little bit would remain standing in it, which I didn't like. And the small lip around the top makes it impossible to pour the remaining little bit out from the top. Removing the screen was very easy, though, and leaves only a small threaded rod sticking out of the inside of the pour spout that's never caused me trouble. And as long as you don't let ridiculous amounts of scale build up in your kettle (which is very easy to clean with boiling one or two passes of 50/50 vinegar/water solution even without scrubbing), the purpose of the screen in rendered irrelevant anyway. Removing the screen allows all of the water to pour out easily and completely, which is great if you're usually heating single cups of water at a time (the minimum volume is .5 liters, which is a bit more than a standard 12-16 oz cup). So, if you've read this far, all I can say is buy this kettle. And, once you get it, if you want to perform a personally verified experiment, get some Twinings Green tea at Walmart then brew a cup from boiling for 2 1/2 minutes then a cup at 185 for 2 1/2 minutes. The difference is night and day. Happy brewing!

Title: Works well with variety of temp settings
Review: Gets as hot as you like, quickly. The “stay at temp” feature took a minute to figure out. Just touch START button again to turn off the kettle. I like it.
