Title: Great product - Asthma sufferer
Review: Originally all I wanted to do was come on to Amazon and order a couple of bottles of eucalyptus aromatherapy oils. A friend gave me some eucalyptus oil on a kleenex when she saw me suffering with asthma symptoms and it worked really well, especially when continuing to breathe in the scent. When I searched for aromatherapy oils I also found the Naturopatch of Vermont Eucalyptus All Natural Relief from Coughs & Colds body patch. I ordered the "Single Sachet (pack of 6)" for just below ten dollars in Nov of 2010.So far this has been the best money spent. Each patch comes individually packaged in its own wrapping. The ingredients listed on the back of this package are:"Ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, eucalyptus citriodora, camphor, peppermint, and lemongrass essential oils"Other information on the back of the package explains to clean the area the patch will be going on to with a couple steps of how to apply it. It mentions that you throw the patch away after each use. It mentions that the patch is meant to be worn up to 24 hours, which I have done successfully with no real issues. It also mentions it is "latex-free, and preservative-free", and that the patch can but cut to fit - which means you can cut it to a smaller size instead of using the entire patch all at once. When you take the patch out, its on a plastic sheet that you peel it off from. At this point, one side is very sticky, the other side is soft and dry. At this point you are supposed to choose an area on your upper chest and place it directly on the skin. The scent is strong enough you can smell it when you look inside after ripping the package open. The patch, for me, has stayed very very well, even in cases when I've forgotten that I'm wearing it and gone to scratch the area, it managed to stay on.I use this patch at night, when I tend to experience asthma symptoms. The fact that I can stick a patch on before bed and have the aroma surrounding my senses during sleep has helped me, and I would still find it on in the morning. The key here is if you need to wear heavier clothing, it probably won't work. I wore a regular hooded sweatshirt and the aroma wasn't able to make it up to my breathing. I would find that UNDER my clothing smelled really strong of the scent, so I found myself shaking my sweatshirt to get the scent out and putting my nose under take a big whiff once in a while - which isn't the most fashionable thing to do while out in public by the way. But this is more convenient than for me to dig out an aromatherapy bottle from pocket or purse.I live in southern California where heavy clothing is rarely needed, and I often where this at home or at night when heavy clothing isn't an issue either.I am also not someone who sweats a lot in that particular area of the body, nor do I do any kind of work through out my day that would have sweat pouring over on top of the area, so I don't know how well the patch holds up under those kinds of conditions. If your body type is like this you might want to try it when you are not sweating, or this might not be the aromatherapy for you if the patch falls off.I have tried wearing the patch, then taking it off, and tried putting it back on without any successful results. The patch just fell off.The scent on the patch lasts much longer than the patch itself. I have, during a day of minimal activity (when I'm clean), taken the patch off and then just had the patch around to use to inhale the scent once in a while, the same way someone uses an aromatherapy travel pen that holds the scent in their pocket. If you are not an extremely active or finnicky person, I do believe you could use the patch longer than 24 hours. I've used it for a full day and half or so when I fell asleep with it on, forgot about it, and used it into the following of a third day. I did find though that after a long period like 24 hours, I have a tendency to want to "scratch" that area that has the patch on it, which I attribute to the skin underneath wanting to just breathe.I imagine for someone who is harry would also have difficulty using this kind of product, unless a smaller piece was cut and applied to a hair-free area like the neck.I use the patch all at once instead of cutting it, but cutting it might be a more economical way of using it if you found the scent to be strong enough to use in small pieces. I would store the patch back into the rest of the package to keep it fresh as long as possible if you plan to do that.Hope this helps anyone who is a serious aromatherapy user considering this product.
