Title: I got a great price from Manila to Reykjavik but was puzzled about ...
Review: I was all set to go on a 32-day trip to Iceland, Greece and Rome next month and was about to book my flights through Google Travel. I got a great price from Manila to Reykjavik but was puzzled about how to get the best (read cheapest) flights within Europe. Then I encountered this book.I was skeptical about buying this book because I'm a well, "veteran" cheapo traveller. But I saved several hundred dollars instantly when I read about the various websites that Mr. Kepnes talked about in his book (specifically the ones that consolidate the low-cost airlines - not found in google travel). And over the next few days of booking accommodations, I continued saving. Well to be fair, the several hundred dollars savings was for me and four other friends - but still! What a great book - excellent tips, well written and easily digested. I wish I had written such a useful book. The cost of the book is insignificant compared to what you would save even if you are a solo traveller so don't hesitate to get this book.Full disclosure: I'm not related to Mr. Kepnes and paid full price for the kindle edition of the book.

Title: Read this in 1 day
Review: Turns out this book is awesome. It’s content is still valuable despite some of the money numbers might be a bit outdated as it was written years ago. I enjoy the authors voice, the organization of information, and if you want to hear more about any subject just get on the authors blog and find even more (and up to date) information. Loved the book so much it’s going to live on my shelf forever as travel inspiration. I also highly recommend the authors other book “10 years a nomad”

Title: Solid advice, well organized. Could have saved a fortune if I'd read it 18 months ago.
Review: Great advice on how to travel cheaply. The chapter on credit cards for travel was especially useful and I regret not reading this a year-and-a-half ago when I shipped a kid off to Siberia for study abroad and then met her in Moscow for travel in Russia and Western Europe--we could have saved a fortune if we'd opened an airline credit card for booking all of that travel.Solid advice, well organized. I've passed it along to my globetrotting daughter.

Title: The Real Deal
Review: This book starts with the basics of saving, budgeting, and planning. Some may find the bits on how to budget your current spending a bit too basic. I found them to be the "start with the fundamentals, practice the fundamentals" type of foundation advice. The chapter on banking overseas is excellent and provides great advice for someone banking at home. (Did you choose your bank or just fall into it?) His coverage of buying tickets and the important but often overlooked travel insurance is full enough to ensure the traveler doesn't waste cash on these essential items.Part 2 on money saving tips provides the checklists you ignore at the peril of your spending rate.Part 3 covers specific destination with terse, what you need to know without unnecessary detail, coverage. Exclusion of the Middle East and Africa prevent the book from being comprehensive. For the rest of the world, food, accommodation, travel, attractions and activities are covered. Each section ends with "How much money do you need?" and for more expensive countries (eg, Australia) he is clear that $50 a day is not realistic. The main text concludes with putting it all together. Author Matt reminds you that the $50 a day is based on his his costs and experiences when actually travelling around the world. He then presents a sample budget for a one year round the world excursion. Some of the negative reviews have been dismissive about some of the tips. Matt understands that what is common sense simple for one reader is a needed reminder for another. As you go through the book its comprehensive, high level coverage of how to travel on a sensible budget will enable you to go where you want without cost being the barrier to departure.

Title: Incredibly inspirational travel advice as well as a valuable budgeting tool
Review: One of the most useful travel books I have read. Contains countless practical tips for budget travelers as well as those with a little more to spend. On his travel guide sections- I find that I travel in the same way and use the same methods as Matt. Similar splurges, similar evaluations of where to spend and where not to. And I like that Matt leaves things open and doesn't recommend which specific places to stay and eat, just provides descriptions of what the levels of accommodations and travel are like as well as gives examples of local food and attraction prices. But most important to me is that this book and his blog, inspire me and give me courage to travel more outside my comfort zone. You just have to realize that no one wants to hurt you (99.5% of the world), people weaker/less skilled than you are travelling every day, and if things just don't work out you come home. I find myself increasingly motivated to travel and live around the world and have made actual steps towards these goals because of this book. Can't recommend highly enough to travelers, those about to travel, or those who are scared of it.Go

Title: Needs Updating
Review: Lots of great ideas. Good pointers on where to get good flight bargains, ideas on the type of accommodations, but a number of websites are defunct. Specifically, the Eat With Locals section. Fat the trip I'm planning next year, I want to get local cuisine and meet locals to learn about their culture. Best way to do that is over a meal. Plato said, you can learn more about a man in one hour of play than a year of conversation.Overall, I didn't completely waste my money. Just think the book was dated.

Review: In the picture is shown the third edition of this book, but in description is about the 2015 edition, which means is the 2nd edition. The 3rd edition was printed on 2017... I thought it will be the picture correct for that book, instead is the 2nd edition, like in description/ review.... The golden valuable informations can be found in this wonderful and practical book, it will help you to manage your time and money for a nice vacation or stay when you're travelling, things that will make us savor at the fullest when we are going for a trip...
