Title: Excellent read
Review: The author's real life experiences are so relatable to what a lot women have gone through in childhood and later in life. The summaries after each chapter and the very last chapter help capture what the whole book is about. I suggest you only read one chapter a day. You will see a life change in yourself or share this book to help someone else. Be blessed.

Review: I love the fact that it made me see myself in a new way. I did not realize that I had all those resentments in me. I knew that I always looked to the way others lived and did not even considered that this was God talking to me by telling me to hold on things will get better and the did. Thanks Nona Jones for this Great Uplifting book. You continue to be an inspiration to us all

Title: Legit one of the best books Iâve read
Review: After being freed from a stronghold, a friendship I had to let go, I had felt there was something else, something deeper I needed to work on. I had prayed for God to reveal it. He showed me through the YouVersion app through a verse of the day Nona Jones did. She mentioned she had a 5 day Bible plan about comparison and her book. I did the 5 day plan and was revealed I needed to work on my insecurity! I was shocked, scared and excited. I had this book in my cart for two months till something told me it was time to do a deep dive working on this with God. As I read the book, stuff that had stemmed from childhood came to the surface and felt like a removal of a stronghold once again to freedom. Thatâs what this book feels like, what it helps you through. To recognize and how to work through it with Godly principles and scriptures to back it which I absolutely loved. Legit one of my favorite books Iâve ever read on this Christian walk. I feel much more confident to be able to walk daily through this life knowing that I am accepted by God and now have the tools when it tries to come up because thatâs life. Lol. I am so grateful to Nona and the work she has done. Truly life changing book, if applied! God bless! Thank you!

Title: Incredible book, but felt incomplete.
Review: Let me start by saying, this book is a must-read. It is so helpful and insightful, and it not only opened my eyes to my own issues with comparison and insecurity, but also helped me understand why other people in my life behave the way they do. My only critique is that, while the book does a great job of explaining the war with our flesh, it doesnât address the very real role Satan and the world play in fueling toxic comparison. I donât think Satan is mentioned once in the book and at one point it says that âthe only opponent we need to defeat is the opponent within us.â While omitting Satanâs role mightâve been a strategic decision to appeal to a broader audience, it felt like the truth was being watered down a bit - ultimately a disservice to the reader, who needs to know they also have an external enemy (Ephesians 6:12) who promotes a world value system designed to fuel toxic comparison (1 John 2:16) and who would love nothing more than to see toxic comparison stop them from carrying out their God-given mission. The book is still an incredible resource and I am so thankful for it - it just felt incomplete.

Review: I wanted to write this review while my thoughts and feelings were still fresh. Meaning after devouring this book in three days, I have just put it down after the afterword to write this. The Holy Spirit is powerful, kind and precise. He has used the voice, experience and talent of Nona Jones to cut to the heart of the deepest wound. Nona delves into how much more insecurity and comparison actually is, than just the surface level understanding we have of it commonly seen in critiques of magazines and social media, but rather the soul deep belief we simply arenât good enough that displays itself in often denied feelings of hurt, sadness, rejection, jealousy and bitterness towards a person, event or thing that we wrongly believe to be the source of our insecurity. Rather Nona explains that the true source of insecurity is far more complex and worthy of empathy and attention than that, the insecure and unsafe attachment to who the world and ourselves have said we are- rather than the secure foundation of who God says we are. Now before you run away at this common Christian phraseology often warbled to the tune of âI am who you say I amâ- rest assured that Nona goes far beyond addressing this truth as simply a platitude or a catchy hook in a song. As someone who strongly dislikes being patronised- I highly commend this book and Nonaâs direct but kind tone of voice when discussing matters of our identity in Christ, trauma wounds, social hurts and conditioning in a way that is easy to understand, empathetic and straight to the point. This is by far one of the most pleasing books to read in terms of tone, pace, structure and most importantly what is often missing from the loose category of âChristian self help booksâ- PRACTICAL and REALISTIC tools to combat the bondage of insecurity and comparison. I wonât tell you what they are as I would not do Nonaâs guide justice- get the book. What really typifies this book as one that stands out from the rest- especially in the arena of those exploring something as widely discussed as insecurity, is Nonaâs authenticity and vulnerability. Her willingness to share her own moments of insecurity and provide practical examples of where insecurity can show itself- that it is often a multi-layered experience and emotion that takes care to handle is stunning. It is also relatable and strips away the shame that so easily creeps up when discussing matters of the heart. The levity, tact, humour, experience and wisdom in this book is a gift from God, as if you are being personally counselled in your most vulnerable area by both the Holy Spirit and your admirable and humble big sister/successful aunt you admire Nona.We all struggle with insecurity. Therefore itâs not an exaggeration to say we all need this book. We are human, we are flawed, but we are progressing. Mrs Nona Jones is a valuable and necessary trail guide on your quest to living a transformed and free life.âFor God has rescued us out of the darkness and gloom of Satanâs kingdom and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son Jesus Christ, who bought our freedom with his blood and forgave us all our sins.â
