Title: Excellent Photo Editing Software
Review: Unfortunately, this is an old product and no longer has tech support, BUT... It is the easiest, fastest-to-learn, photo editing software I have used. I use it to create composite images for book covers as well as correcting damaged photos. I can't recommend this product high enough.

Title: Excellent Photo Editor
Review: I used Photo Impact 4.0 for many, many years and loved it. Unfortunately it would not load onto Windows 7. 13 still has much the same look and intuitive feel as 4 but with many new features. The enclosed manual takes a bit of searching due to a slightly skimpy index. This can be overcome by bouncing between the table of contents and the index. Very versatile, well worth the money. I noticed during the loading that many of the files still had the old ULEAD in the file name.

Title: A very versitile and useful prodcut, unchanged since Windows 7.
Review: I've been using copies of this product since it first came out. I still have it on a couple old PC's (same version), and purchased a new copy for Windows 11. It still works, but it is still totally the same product/code/style as when Version 13 was first issued (Windows 7).One spectacular point - and worth the entire purchase price - is it's ability to work with fonts. The various transformation options (including making almost any font 3-d), plus stretching/distorting/manipulating text in an image cannot be found in any other product I've seen out there. One limitation, it still believes in & enforces memory-limits from Windows of the past. Even with an 8Tb drive & 128Gb of memory, it will 'run out of memory'. (It just can't see past the ancient boundaries.)It can do about 90% of what the big-market photo-editor can, at a great price. And it's NOT subscription.

Title: Twenty Years of Excellent Performance
Review: Photo-Impact is, for me, an intuitive program. I prefer to learn by doing, rather than by reading instructions. Indeed, I find written instruction tedious, boring, and no substitute for 'doing'. I do wish that someone would purchase the license that provided human assistance in person via telephone. (I know, old fashioned. That does not mean it is not a great way to communicate.) In addition, in a market economy dominated by rapid change and the 'latest newest' program du jour, what I need is a program that can remain the same but the merchandizing and marketting 'advanced' to keep the product profitable, not scrap the program and develop a new one that does not offer the same benefits. Will somebody please buy this product and optimize its presence in the market?

Title: Serial Code for the Photo Impact Pro 13 is invalid. Unable to install.
Review: Tried to install via software download. Product was not on the software list to pick from, and the Serial Code was invalid. Tried to install it in another computer with a disc drive, again the Serial Code is invalid. Very frustrating and unacceptable.

Title: Make no mistake, this is a very capable program, but it is OLD, and comes with limitations.
Review: I have used various versions of PhotoImpact since the mid 90s, since I believe version 4 was included with a scanner my family owned. It is a solid program, with a very good selection of editing tools. I absolutely stand behind it as one of the best options for an affordable photo and image editing software suite. However, do not mistake this program for a modern one. There are inherent limits to how much this program can do, due to its base nature being built on a 32-bit architecture. The program cannot make use of the higher amounts of RAM in modern computers, and I believe it is capped at 2 gigabytes.Now.. the WEIRD part.. I do not understand it, but for some reason this particular version of PhotoImpact (Pro 13) seems to cap out at -200 megabytes- of RAM usage. I have watched Task Manager while using the program, and it never goes above this amount. It's bizarre, and has resulted in this program crashing and freezing very frequently as I work. For context, I use PhotoImpact to generate texture maps for 3D graphics modeling projects (game and animation related). I am regularly building textures in a 2048x2048 pixel resolution. This version of the program is incapable of functioning correctly while I work. I will frequently generate large and complicated selection masks, such as those required for fabric or stonework patterns. The program is more than capable of handling the images, but attempting to make a complex selection causes the program to go into conniptions of insufficient memory errors, and massive bouts of freezing.I believe it has something to do with the display of flashing dotted outlines that appear around selected objects. Complex selections, either of image or vector objects, will cause the program to slow to a crawl, while it appears to parse small blocks of the image one by one, and this will repeat for as long as the selection is onscreen, rendering the program effectively frozen. If you manage to zoom in until the selection is out of view, the program will return to normal functionality, but this is an absolutely ridiculous work-around.Oddly enough, PhotoImpact version 6 from 2000 does not have this issue, and seems to have no trouble making use of the full 2047 megabytes of RAM you can allow it (there is a setting in the program preferences for allowable memory usage).Sadly, there seems to be no intent to bring this program into a 64-bit architecture, and I have been trying to find a suitable replacement for some time now, but cannot find a single program that covers all of its features in a single package, short of moving to a subscription for the Adobe Photoshop family of programs.I would still recommend the program as a good image editor, because there is no arguing over its selection of editing tools, but I would advise tempering your expectations if you intend to use it for very large or complex projects, and potentially recommend seeking out other versions of the program that do not suffer from the same memory management issues.

Review: was pleasantly surprised, it did what it claimed to do, steps were rather easy to follow, and the wonders that this soft ware can do will blow your mind, part of the fun is learning how to do things only the pros could do, if you start with a good picture this will help turn it into a great picture, and the things you can do with it is almost magical.you can be serious, or you can goof off and have a lot of fun, so far I'm very happy with it and when you call for technical help if you would need to, there are live people who will help you understand and correct your problem. Great product.
